Save £300 The Panasonic S5 is a full frame camera with a 24MP sensor, improved AF and can record video at 4K60p – and it comes with a free Sennheiser mic and 64GB memory card!
The Panasonic S5 is Panasonics third offering in the world of full-frame cameras. Designed to offer the same 24MP image quality of the Panasonic S1 but in a smaller body, the S5 has a lot of impressive features that make it a brilliant stills and video camera.
Although it still uses contrast-detect AF rather than phase detect, Panasonic has improved the speed and accuracy of the autofocus in the S5. It comes with precise face and eye-tracking that is able to lock on to the subject and produce a sharp image even when they are moving. With relatively large pixels and better light gathering pictures, it offers an impressive 14 stops of dynamic range – which is similar to a lot of the Sony Alpha series cameras.
It has a fully articulated screen which makes it perfect for shooting video overhead, at the hip or recording yourself. The screen can be flipped to face you making it perfect for vloggers who want a high-quality stills camera.
Its video capabilities really are impressive, and even more so if you hook it up to an external recorder such as the Atomos Ninja V. Internally it's able to shoot 4K 60 10-bit 4:2:0 with a 30-minute record limit and a max data rate of 200Mbps. When filming with an external it can output 5.9K raw at 12-bit 4:2:0.
This amazing deal might not be around for long so if you want to save yourself almost £500 then head over to the Wex website or pop in store to blag yourself a bargain.
