Nikon has launched its latest summer promotion across the UK and Ireland, offering huge savings across some of its most desirable products. Standout offerings include £270/€300 off a Z 7 with kit lens and £180/€200 off the professional-grade Z NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 S standard zoom.

The Instant Savings promotion means that all discounts are applied at the point of purchase, and are on top of any discounts that Nikon authorised retailers may already be offering, rather than the traditional – and rather convoluted – cashback schemes that require redemption by the buyer to receive a partial refund on the price paid. The month-long promotion runs from 19 June until 19 July 2020 – a much shorter window than last year's three-month-long deal.

Most notable is that in a marked shift to previous years, the focus is squarely on the Z mirrorless system, with discounts across all three Z-system cameras, and is clearly aimed at persuading those considering moving from DSLRs to finally make the leap. There are generous savings across the range of S-line lenses too, for those already invested in the system.

This is clear indication of that Nikon sees the future of the market as being mirrorless – but will no doubt disappoint some photographers hoping for the annual savings bonanza on lenses for their Nikon DSLRs.

Jake Cundy, Commercial Director at Nikon UK, commented: “After a successful introduction last year, we’ve brought our Instant Savings promotion back for 2020 - fully exclusive to the Z Series. The outlook for Z Series is looking very positive and will continue to develop and inspire creativity in photography.”

“As well as allowing current Z Series customers to get access to big discounts, our Z Deals promotion will give them the ability to grow their existing collection, as well as allowing those that are either new to photography to step into a fully approachable system or existing DSLR customers to discover mirrorless. The aim is to make Nikon mirrorless attainable and our Instant Savings promotion will allow additional opportunities for this.”
