Map Camera states, "The Sony A7 V is strong! Once again, it has secured the top spot, far ahead of the second-place finisher.
"This is its ninth time at number one since its release in December 2025, excluding May 2026. It seems to have no rivals."

Chart-topping compact cameras
Map Camera's Top 10 cameras of September include compact cameras that are trusted by photographers and everyday shooters for years. Older models in the chart include the Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III released in August 2019.
Canon's other PowerShot model, the SX740 HS / Lite, is a compact camera that was relaunched in late 2024; it originally entered the market as the SX740 in July 2018. The Lite edition features the same 8-year-old core tech.
The Ricoh GR IV is the newest model and entered the market in September 2025, just months before Sony's newest full-frame and record-breaking A7 V was launched.
