Sony's latest full-frame camera won the EISA Camera of the Year 2026-2027 title after topping the Japanese sales chart for months following its December 2025 release.
The Sony A7 V has already made a major impact since launching, taking the top spot at Japan's biggest camera retailers month after month and quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular mirrorless cameras.
Now the full-frame model has added another major industry award to its growing collection – having previously won Best Full Frame Expert Camera at the TIPA World Awards and Camera of the Year at the Camera Grand Prix 2026 – with EISA naming the A7 V Camera of the Year 2026-2027.
The Expert Imaging and Sound Association, EISA, is a major consumer technology awards group comprising 51 technology-related publications, and announces winners across a range of technology product categories including hi-fi audio, home theater and photography.

EISA says, "The Sony Alpha 7 V is a weather-sealed full-frame camera that’s suitable for virtually any application. It combines tried-and-tested features such as 5-axis image stabilization with cutting-edge photographic technology.
"Its partially stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor delivers 33 megapixels while enabling shooting at 30 frames per second to provide blackout-free continuous shooting.
"It employs Sony’s latest BIONZ XR2 processor, with an integrated AI processing unit that supports autofocus with real-time subject recognition including human pose estimation.
"It’s also a very good video camera that’s capable of 4K recording at 60fps, or 120fps with a Super35 crop. Whether in the studio or outdoors, the Sony Alpha 7 V is a reliable and high-performance camera for discerning photographers."
