Adobe has announced today that Lightroom 4 is now available for Mac OS and Windows at just £86.57 ex VAT, or £49.24 ex VAT for the upgrade. Compared to the price of Lightroom 3 at launch, which was £198 ex VAT and £64 ex VAT for the upgrade, that’s a significant price cut!

New features in Lightroom 4 include adjustment controls to maximise dynamic range from cameras to recover shadow details and highlights. It also includes improved auto adjustments to dynamically set values for exposure and contrast, and additional local adjustment controls including Noise Reduction, Moire, and White Balance.

If you’re interested in creating photo books, Lightroom 4 gives you the ability to do this with a variety of templates, and even provides location tagging in the new Map module.

Native video support is another significant new feature, giving you the ability to play, trim and extract frames from video clips. Videos can be exported as H.264 files or published directly to Facebook or Flickr.

Sold? Visit www.adobe.com/uk/store for the software.
