The Sony A6000 has officially taken the top spot for being the most sold camera at KEH Camera in 2020. KEH Camera is a US based reseller that specializes in the used camera market. The company is one of the largest firms that buys and sells photo and video equipment.

The Sony A6000 was initially released all the way back in April 2014, but remains a very popular option on the second hand market. With its 24MP APS-C sized sensor and highly compatible E-mount, this camera continues to be excellent value for money.

Cameras such as the Sony A6000 continue to remain popular because they offer a compact but highly capable mirrorless camera. Its size and weight make it a very attractive option – along with the fact that it's relatively inexpensive. The E-mount's short flange distance means that lots of different kinds of lenses can be adapted to it, including many inexpensive and also quirky lenses

Interestingly, Canon appears more times than any other brand on the top selling list from KEH Camera (opens in new tab). Three of the latest Canon 5D series cameras appear in the list, with the Canon 5D Mark III being the second more popular option.

KEH goes on to discuss that, although there are number of DSLR cameras in the list, it's amazing to see three mirrorless cameras appear in the list. "I'm sure some of you are surprised at the amount of DSLRs that make up the top 10, but if you take a look at our top sellers from the last decade, it's actually amazing that three mirrorless cameras managed to sneak onto the list—let alone, top it."

With mirrorless cameras beginning to top the used market, this could be an indication of the shift from DSLR cameras to mirrorless cameras. While this report from KEH is from a relatively small sample size, it's still an interesting indication of where the market could be heading.
