The Canon EOS 2000D competes with the likes of the Nikon D3400 and a slew of mirrorless cameras such as the Fujifilm X-A5, Sony A5100 and the Panasonic GX800. It houses a 24MP APS-C sensor, one that works with a DIGIC 4+ processing engine, while a 3in LCD screen around its back shows off images and videos with a respectable 921k-dot resolution.
We wouldn't expect things like 4K video on a DSLR of this level, but we get the next best thing: Full HD recording, in a choice of 30fps and 24fps frame rates. The 9-point AF system is basic but perfectly fine for everyday subjects, while Wi-Fi and NFC allow you to hook it up to a smartphone or tablet running the Canon Camera Connect app.
Those just learning how to use an interchangeable-lens camera such as the EOS 2000D can learn through a GUI designed specifically for them, with tips on how to make the background more blurred or focused, or images brighter and darker.
Normally, entry-level cameras such as the EOS 2000D come bundled with lenses that lack image stabilisation to make them as cheap as possible, but this particular kit comes with the fully image-stabilised lens, which means you can use it more freely when light levels fall, and when using longer focal lengths.
