DxO PhotoLab is a Photoshop alternative that specializes in top-quality raw processing, optical corrections and photo enhancement. Version 3.2 is a free update for existing users that brings a number of improvements and adds raw support for five new cameras, including the Nikon D780, Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III and Canon EOS-1D X Mark III.

DxO PhotoLab 3.2 is also available to new users at a special discounted price until March 31 2020.

PhotoLab is designed to extract the best possible image quality from your camera gear and can often transform the results even from relatively basic or middle of the road cameras and lenses. It used to be called DxO Optics Pro, but when DxO acquired the Google Nik Collection, it relaunched Optics Pro as DxO PhotoLab and incorporated Nik’s powerful local image adjustments to make it a much more powerful all-round photo editor.

Right now, we rate DxO PhotoLab amongst the best photo editing software you can get, and the improvements in PhotoLab 3.2 promise to make it even better.

New features in DxO PhotoLab 3.2

The new features in PhotoLab 3.2 include improvements to the already powerful local adjustment tools and the masks used to control their effect. It’s now possible to Duplicate and Rename masks for more flexibility when you apply multiple adjustments. You can now duplicate control points, filters or hand-brushed masks to apply the same settings to different areas of the picture, and you can give masks a name to help you identify and select them later.

Just as important for new camera buyers is the addition of five new camera models to PhotoLab 3.2’s raw support. These are the Nikon D780, Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, Canon EOS-1D X Mark III, Leica D-Lux 7 and Leica Q2.

DxO has also improved the display of the Repair Tool in PhotoLab 3.2, adding a thin outline to show the areas being repaired so that they are easier to see, and the source area used to make the repair. PhotoLab 3.2 also has improved keyword support to help users differentiate between keywords applied to several images, and the features in the Windows version have now been brought into line wth the Mac version.
