Canon EOS R3 (body only) |AU$8,49.95AU$6,724.96 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Fcanon-eos-r3-body-only" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Canon EOS R3 (body only) | AU$8,49.95 AU$6,724.96 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$1,770.99 after cashback)

There was a cashback offer during last year's Black Friday sale that saw this sports shooter drop to under AU$7K, and we're so excited that has happened again, with the R3 now cheaper than ever if you take advantage of <a href="https://www.canon.com.au/products/specials/50th-anniversary-cash-splash" data-link-merchant="canon.com.au"" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Canon's 50th anniversary cashback offer. The R3 is one heck of a pro-level camera, with a 24MP stacked BSI sensor, 6K/60p and 4K/120p video, a 5.76 million dot EVF with a 120fps refresh rate, Canon's Eye Control tracking tech, up to 8 stops of IBIS and up to 30fps bursts.

Canon EOS R6 Mark II (body) |AU$3,799AU$3,419 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F12366-canon-eos-r6-mark-ii-mirrorless-camera-body-only.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Canon EOS R6 Mark II (body) | AU$3,799 AU$3,419 at CameraPro (save AU$380 after cashback)

This is a much better discount than CameraPro makes it out to be as the retailer's original list price is far better than anywhere else. The R6 II has a retail price of over AU$4K, then add in <a href="https://www.canon.com.au/products/specials/50th-anniversary-cash-splash" data-link-merchant="canon.com.au"" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Canon's AU$150 cashback offer via online redemption and this full-frame speedster can be yours for just AU$3,500 (or AU$3,419 with cashback). For your money, you'll get the best of Canon's autofocus tech, high speed bursts and 4K video. It also gets a bump in sensor resolution from the original R6, now featuring a 24.4MP full-frame sensor.

Canon EOS R8 + RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM |AU$2,949AU$2,399 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-Mirrorless-Camera-Body-Only%2Fdp%2FB0BXNYVXQN%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Canon EOS R8 + RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM | AU$2,949 AU$2,399 on Amazon (save AU$550)

The EOS R8 is the lovechild of the EOS R6 Mark II and the now-ageing EOS RP, and is currently the cheapest full-frame mirrorless camera on the market. It's an entry-level snapper but it features some of the specs from Canon's more expensive bodies, like topnotch tracking and autofocus, plus burst of up to 40fps. What it lacks is the high-resolution EVF and rear LCD screen from those premium models. Still, this is a lot of camera for this discounted price for a single-lens kit. There's a AU$150 Visa gift card offer to claim from Canon as well.

Nikon Z8 (body) | AU$6,799AU$5,799 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Fnikon-z8" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Nikon Z8 (body) | AU$6,799 AU$5,799 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$1,000)

Not only is there a AU$700 discount on what is arguably one of the best Nikon cameras to date, but an additional AU$300 voucher is automatically added at checkout when you purchase this full-framer from Ted's Cameras. That's a massive saving of a grand! You get a 45.7MP effective resolution, 8.3K/60p internal video recording, a 493-point phase-detect AF system, up to 120fps bursts and a remarkably compact body compared to the flagship Z9.

Nikon Z9 (body only) |AU$8,999AU$7,458 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2Fdp%2FB09KL1VKGD%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon Z9 (body only) | AU$8,999 AU$7,458 on Amazon (save AU$1,541)

This remarkable pro sports camera has dropped to AU$6,269 on Amazon previously, which was the best price we'd seen since it was launched. We're not expecting that kind of a price drop again, but there's still some decent savings to be had on Amazon right now. This truly is a revolutionary high-res pro camera, having done away with its mechanical shutter entirely, and worth every penny to a professional sports photographer.

Sony A7R IV (body) |AU$4,199.95AU$3,169.96 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct%2Fview%2Fid%2F12882%2Fs%2Fsony-a7r-mark-iv-body" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Sony A7R IV (body) | AU$4,199.95 AU$3,169.96 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$1,029.99 after cashback)

Ted's Cameras has shaved off a decent chunk of change from the list price of this marvellous high-res full-framer, and then there's a Sony cashback offer to take advantage off. Which means, when you <a href="https://sonypromotion.campaign.net.au/bonuscashbackNOV2023" data-link-merchant="sonypromotion.campaign.net.au"" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">redeem via Sony's website, you get score this 61MP full-framer for a right steal and we think that's a pretty nifty bargain right now.

Sony A7 III (body only) |AU$2,529AU$1,699 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F6278-sony-a7iii-mirrorless-camera-body.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Sony A7 III (body only) | AU$2,529 AU$1,699 at CameraPro (save AU$830 with cashback)

Even though the Mark IV camera might be the better option since it's more recent, it's still a hefty investment. The A7 III is still a remarkably capable full-frame hybrid camera and, if you register this purchase with Sony, you can get AU$400 in cashback, saving you a total of AU$830.

Canon EOS R5 (body) |AU$5,799.95AU$4,629.96 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct%2Fview%2Fid%2F14421%2Fs%2Fcanon-eos-r5-body" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Canon EOS R5 (body) | AU$5,799.95 AU$4,629.96 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$1,169.99 after cashback)

Canon's flagship was recently AU$4,899 at DigiDirect, but it looks like Ted's Cameras current discount, plus the Canon cashback offer makes this the best offer right now. 45MP resolution, 8K video, speedy and accurate autofocus, IBIS, up to 20fps bursts... there's a lot that's great about this snapper.

Nikon Z7 II (body only) |AU$4,634AU$3,999 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-Mirrorless-Body-Only-Black%2Fdp%2FB08L4PBL41%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon Z7 II (body only) | AU$4,634 AU$3,999 on Amazon (save AU$635)

This is pretty close to the lowest price the Z7 has been, which was AU$3,954 in May this year. And while Amazon lists the discount at just 14%, the actual RRP for this full-frame snapper is AU$5,499. Taking that into account, this is a fantastic bargain on a high-resolution camera. Sure, it can't keep up with the latest from Canon and Sony, but it's still an amazing snapper.

Nikon Z6 II (body only) |AU$3,499AU$2,549 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-Mirrorless-Nikkor-24-70mm-Black%2Fdp%2FB08L4NYMKF%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon Z6 II (body only) | AU$3,499 AU$2,549 on Amazon (save AU$945)

It might be a minor upgrade from the original Z6, but this 24.5MP full-framer is a very capable all-rounder on its own accord. Admittedly competition from Sony and Canon has overshadowed the Z6 II, but if you are a Nikon fan, this is a good enthusiast- to advanced-level shooter. There was a AU$916 saving on Amazon during last year's Black Friday, meaning this is a slightly better discount.

Need a kit? The <a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-Mirrorless-Nikkor-24-70mm-Black%2Fdp%2FB08L4PKGSR%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon Z6 II + Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens bundle is 20% off on Amazon, now AU$3,691 from AU$4,599.

Panasonic Lumix S5II + Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 |AU$3,699AU$2,788 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FPanasonic-Mirrorless-Unlimited-Recording-DC-S5M2GN%2Fdp%2FB0BSN63CN9%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Panasonic Lumix S5II + Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 | AU$3,699 AU$2,788 on Amazon (save AU$911)

The Lumix S5II is more than just a reliable and capable workhorse – it's perhaps Panasonic's more advanced hybrid full-framer and the first to use phase-detect autofocus instead of the brand's usual DFD tech. It's an excellent video camera that happens to take good stills too and this offer on the single-lens kit is too good to pass up if this is the kind of camera you're after.

Leica SL2 (body) |AU$10,799AU$9,895 at Diamonds Camera

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=6439&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.diamondscamera.com.au%2Fleica-sl2-body-only" data-link-merchant="diamondscamera.com.au"">Leica SL2 (body) | AU$10,799 AU$9,895 at Diamonds Camera (save AU$904)

Leica's full-frame 47MP snapper seems to be the cheapest at Diamond Cameras but stock is low. While still really very pricey, this is a good offer considering the SL2 body is listed for AU$11,390 at the Leica Store. 5K/30p video and 20fps burst shooting, the SL2 is a formidable camera if you can afford it.

APS-C cameras

Canon EOS R100 + RF-S 18-45mm lensAU$1,099AU$794 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-R100-Single-Mirrorless-Camera%2Fdp%2FB0C8HCLQVC%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Canon EOS R100 + RF-S 18-45mm lens | AU$1,099 AU$794 on Amazon (save AU$305)

Announced in May 2023, the R100 is already Canon's most affordable RF-mount camera. While it doesn't feature an articulating touchscreen, it's got a lot of other features that are worthwhile for any beginner after a capable entry-level camera. 4K/24p video (cropped), good autofocus performance and an excellent 24.1MP sensor will help you hone your skills.

Canon EOS R50 + RF-S 18-45mm lens |AU$1,249AU$1,049 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F12678-canon-eos-r50-mirrorless-camera-with-rfs-18-45mm-lens.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Canon EOS R50 + RF-S 18-45mm lens | AU$1,249 AU$1,049 at CameraPro (save AU$200 after cashback)

This might not seem like a big discount on this 24.2MP APS-C speedster, but the Canon R50 has an RRP of AU$1,399 elsewhere, so the ticket price at CameraPro is, in itself, low. So what do you get for your money? 4K/30p video oversampled from 6K footage, excellent autofocus capabilities for video and stills, plus bursts of up to 15fps. And a compact, lightweight body.

Fujifilm X-T5 (body only; black) |AU$2,999AU$2,369 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FFujifilm-Mirrorless-Digital-Camera-Silver%2Fdp%2FB0BKGQ4XF1%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Fujifilm X-T5 (body only; black) | AU$2,999 AU$2,369 on Amazon (save AU$630)

This camera is just about a year old and it's a fantastic bargain at under AU$2,500. It launched with a price tag of over AU$3K but now retails for under that. This is good savings on a camera that offers 40.2MP of resolution on tap and the ability to shoot 6.2K/30p video. It's small, light and oh-so-compact.

Fujifilm X-H2 (body only) |AU$2,999.95AU$2,549.96 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Ffujifilm-x-h2" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Fujifilm X-H2 (body only) | AU$2,999.95 AU$2,549.96 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$449.99)

This is a pretty good discount on a pretty good speedster. This 40MP snapper is currently AU$2,550 (yes, we decided to round it up) at Ted's Cameras, putting some remarkable speed and processing power in your hands. It can also shoot 8K video if you need that kind of resolution.

Fujifilm X-T30 II (body only; silver) |AU$1,390AU$1,299 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F11282-fujifilm-x-t30-mark-ii-body-only-silver.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Fujifilm X-T30 II (body only; silver) | AU$1,390 AU$1,299 at CameraPro (save AU$91)

This may not seem like a huge discount, but this is already an affordable camera currently listed at around the AU$1,400 mark elsewhere. That means the AU$1,299 discounted price at CameraPro is pretty good ahead of Black Friday. To then get this 26.1MP snapper for even less, no matter how little less, is just the icing on the cake. Excellent performance and image quality really makes this a great option for enthusiasts and advanced users.

Canon EOS R7 (body only) |AU$2,299AU$1,899 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-EOS-R7-Mirrorless-Camera%2Fdp%2FB0B1Z8JW4X%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Canon EOS R7 (body only) | AU$2,299 AU$1,899 on Amazon (save AU$400)

The EOS R7 is a lot of camera for its affordable full price, but this 17% discount makes it a tempting option for a beginner. High speed RAW capture, the same autofocus prowess of the more expensive R-series cameras, dual SD cards, 4K video and 32.3MP on tap, and that's just for starters. Did we mention the 40fps continuous shooting speed and in-body stabilisation?

Sony A6700 (body) |AU$2,399AU$1,889 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F12989-sony-a6700-mirrorless-camera-body.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Sony A6700 (body) | AU$2,399 AU$1,889 at CameraPro (save AU$510)

Announced earlier this year, the A6700 takes the brilliant autofocus performance of Sony's full-framers and puts it into a compact, travel-friendly body. It's a very capable 26MP hybrid, although its IBIS isn't great for video capture and there's a heavy crop if you opt for 4K 120p slo-mos. If that doesn't bother you, this is a good mid-range enthusiast-level camera.

Nikon Z fc (body) |AU$1,449.95AU$1,232.46 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Fnikon-zfc" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Nikon Z fc (body) | AU$1,449.95 AU$1,232.46 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$217.49)

If you want a small travel camera with serious retro oomph, then we'd highly recommend the Nikon Z fc. It exudes old-world charm without compromising on performance. If you head to Ted's Cameras, you'll find a few kit options in different colours to choose from, all discounted.

Fujifilm X-S10 (body only) |AU$1,499AU$1,274.96 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Ffujifilm-x-s10" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Fujifilm X-S10 (body only) | AU$1,499 AU$1,274.96 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$224.99)

We were really very impressed with what Fujifilm was able to do with the X-S10 when it was first announced. It quickly became one of our fave cameras, thanks to the excellent performance of its 26.1MP APS-C sensor and the built-in 6.5 stops of image stabilisation. Precise autofocus and subject tracking is also a boon.

Nikon Z30 + Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 VR |AU$1,499AU$1,249 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-16-50mm-Mirrorless-Vloggers-Creators%2Fdp%2FB0CC3LP467%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon Z30 + Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 VR | AU$1,499 AU$1,249 on Amazon (save AU$250)

Nikon's cheapest Z series camera with the 16-50mm kit was AU$970 a few days ago, but that bundle is no longer discounted. Instead, there's a 17% discount on the 12-28mm kit, which is worth considering. A brilliant 20.8MP sensor, 4K recording at up to 125 minutes per clip, a compact size... this is a great little vlogging or travel camera at what is probably its best price yet on the single-lens kit.

Nikon Z50 + DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR + DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR |AU$2,049AU$1,550 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-50-Body-Only-Black%2Fdp%2FB0819MGDMB%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon Z50 + DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR + DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR | AU$2,049 AU$1,550 on Amazon (save AU$499)

There was a very good AU$650 discount on this twin-lens kit on Amazon, but that offer is no longer available. However, you can opt for the <a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-50-Body-Only-Black%2Fdp%2FB08BLGFDML%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">body only for just AU$1,000 for now and add your choices of lenses later. Where the Z30 doesn't feature a built-in EVF, the Z50 does. It's also got a larger flip-down rear screen compared to a smaller articulating one on the Z30. Most of the other features are alike between Nikon's affordable APS-C Z-series cameras, but the addition of two lenses in the kit is a perfect start.

Medium Format

Fujifilm GFX 100S (body only)AU$8,999.95AU$6,349.96 at Ted's Cameras

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Ffujifilm-gfx-100s" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Fujifilm GFX 100S (body only) | AU$8,999.95 AU$6,349.96 at Ted's Cameras (save AU$2,649.99 after cashback)

The biggest barrier to entering the world of medium format photography is how expensive the cameras and lenses are. However, if you don't mind an older model, there's a <a href="https://www.fujifilmpromotion.com.au/cashback" data-link-merchant="fujifilmpromotion.com.au"" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">cashback offer from Fujifilm via online redemption until January 10, 2024, that could save a decent AU$1,300 on the already discounted price of AU$7,649.96 at Ted's Cameras. A discount plus a cashback offer makes this 50MP medium format camera a right steal at low price of just AU$3,375 when you pick it up from Ted's Cameras. DSLR-like styling makes it easier to handle, it produces some beautiful results and it worth every penny even at full price if you really want to get into medium format photography.

Panasonic Lumix G9 (body) | AU$1,599AU$1,099 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FPanasonic-LUMIX-Mirrorless-Camera-DC-G9GN-K%2Fdp%2FB07S17CL8Z%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Panasonic Lumix G9 (body) | AU$1,599 AU$1,099 on Amazon (save AU$500)

The original G9 is getting a little long in the tooth, especially since the G9 II is a massive upgrade over the older model. However, the Mark II also gets a massive price increase. So if you don't need the speed and precision of the 2023 release of the G9 II, the old G9 body gets AU$500 slashed off its list price on Amazon.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV (body only, silver) |AU$1,099AU$779 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FOLYMPUS-OM-D-M10-Mark-Body%2Fdp%2FB08F79JFK6%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV (body only, silver) | AU$1,099 AU$779 on Amazon (save AU$320)

This good-looking camera is both portable and powerful, with a 20MP MFT sensor, IBIS and a flip-down monitor. It's got a good update over its Mark III predecessor with better autofocus too. It would be a really good option for anyone looking for an entry-level camera. Plus, there's no lack of lenses, with any MFT optic from any brand fitting the body.

Nikon D6 (body) |AU$9,999AU$7,499 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-D6-Body-Only-Black%2Fdp%2FB084XGHBJW%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon D6 (body) | AU$9,999 AU$7,499 on Amazon (save AU$2,500)

One of the best pro-level DSLRs that Nikon ever made, the D6 still retails for a hefty price tag. We've not usually seen it get a discount like this, but then perhaps retailers want to flog their stock of DSLR bodies. Speculations aside, if you still love a DSLR and want a pro-grade body, this is a beaut!

Nikon D780 (body only) |AU$3,499AU$2,677.95 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-D780-SnapBridge-Black-VBA560AA%2Fdp%2FB083QFZZVY%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon D780 (body only) | AU$3,499 AU$2,677.95 on Amazon (save AU$821.05)

It's the last DSRL Nikon made and, in many ways, is an updated version of the trusty old D750. However, this one is better in many ways as Nikon has taken the sensor, AF tech and processing prowess of the Z6 and packed it into the D750 body. And while it's hard to spruik a DSLR these days, trust us when we say this is one heck of a camera.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV (body only) |AU$3,999.95AU$3,099.96 at Ted's Cameras

This isn't the best price we've seen on this timeless DSRL from Canon – it was AU$2,799 on Amazon during Black Friday 2022 – but we don't think that kind of a price drop is going to happen this year. Instead, there's a <a href="https://www.canon.com.au/products/specials/50th-anniversary-cash-splash" data-link-merchant="canon.com.au"" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"">Canon cashback offer to take advantage of. If this price looks good to you, know that just because it's a DSLR doesn't mean you should ignore it. It's still one of the best cameras Canon has ever made, with a plethora of EF lenses to choose from.

Nikon D850 (body) |AU$4,599AU$3,300 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FNikon-D850-Body-Tilting-Black%2Fdp%2FB077QD6TXR%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Nikon D850 (body) | AU$4,599 AU$3,300 on Amazon (save AU$1,299)

With a 45.7MP full-frame sensor under the hood, this is a really impressive DSLR despite being on the heavy and bulky side. The image quality here truly is magnificent. If that's what important to you, and you're comfortable buying from a third-party seller on Amazon, there's a very hefty AU$1,299 saving to be had.

Canon EOS 200D Mark II + EF 18-55mm kit lens |AU$1,159AU$976 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-EOS-200D-II-200DIIKIS%2Fdp%2FB07RJWB548%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Canon EOS 200D Mark II + EF 18-55mm kit lens | AU$1,159 AU$976 on Amazon (save AU$183)

An absolute stunner of a beginner DSLR, this camera was designed to help people start their creative journey. A guided menu is just the start, plus an intuitive interface and physical setup helps. It's also small and light for a DSLR. This kit was down to AU$799 for Black Friday last year, so this offer is a little disappointing.

Canon EOS 90D (body only)AU$1,899AU$1,499 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F8989-canon-eos-90d-dslr-camera-body-only.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Canon EOS 90D (body only) | AU$1,899 AU$1,499 at CameraPro (save AU$400 after cashback)

At this low price, this 32.5MP DSLR is a right steal as it's hardly seen a discount all year. Its APS-C format sensor is excellent, and it can handle some pretty good 4K video too. There's upto 10fps continuous shooting on board and Canon's tried and tested Dual Pixel AF takes care of your autofocus needs.

Sony ZV-1 II |AU$1,299AU$1,088 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FSony-18-50mm-Angle-Vlogging-Camera%2Fdp%2FB0C62F451G%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Sony ZV-1 II | AU$1,299 AU$1,088 on Amazon (save AU$211)

There's not a lot the Mark II version of the Sony ZV-1 vlogging camera can do better or differently than the original, but the best price right now on it is on Amazon although it isn't listed as a deal. You can also get the <a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=3846&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jbhifi.com.au%2Fproducts%2Fsony-zv-1-ii-18-50mm-vlogging-camera-black" data-link-merchant="jbhifi.com.au"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">ZV-1 II from JB Hi-Fi for the same price.

The ZV-1F has dropped in price significantly since it launched with a price tag of AU$1,099. It's now retailing for about AU$750 to AU$900, and you can have it for cheaper still on Amazon. Stock is limited, though, so be quick if you'd like an affordable 4K vlogging camera for your content creation needs.

Point-and-shoot cameras

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII |AU$1,649AU$1,399 at CameraPro

<a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=1202&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.camerapro.com.au%2F8885-sony-cybershot-rx100-vii-digital-compact-camera.html" data-link-merchant="camerapro.com.au"">Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII | AU$1,649 AU$1,399 at CameraPro (save AU$250)

The last of its kind, Sony hasn't resurrected its point-and-shoot line, but the Mark VII is still retailing for a pretty high price. However, it's one of the best point-and-shoots money can buy, so it's definitely worth a consideration at this small discount of AU$250 from CameraPro. Featuring a pop-up EVF, a 24-200mm f/2.8-4.5 lens for a versatile focal length range and the same imaging engine used in Sony A9 sports camera, this is one heck of a pocket rocket.

Canon PowerShot V10 |AU$699AU$560 on Amazon

<a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-PSV10S-PowerShot-V10-Silver%2Fdp%2FB0C59MM64C%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Canon PowerShot V10 | AU$699 AU$560 on Amazon (save AU$139)

Smaller than most mobile phones and yet producing some decent images, the PowerShot V10 is a very different kind of camera. It's fun to use, but it struggles a little in low light, but it's still the perfect little companion to keep with you when you're out and about or want to use as a webcam or streaming camera. It even has its own little stand for that! The <a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-PSV10S-PowerShot-V10-Silver%2Fdp%2FB0C59MM64C%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">black model is cheapest, sitting at AU$560 on Amazon, while the <a href="https://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8430&GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com.au%2FCanon-PSV10S-PowerShot-V10-Silver%2Fdp%2FB0C59LPR6C%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-22%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-22" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Silver one is a touch more at AU$570.

Panasonic Lumix TZ80 |AU$549AU$466.65 at DigiDirect

<a href="https://t.cfjump.com/14042/t/72917?UniqueId=hawk-custom-tracking&Url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.digidirect.com.au%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct%2Fview%2Fid%2F28707%2Fs%2Fpanasonic-lumix-tz80-black" data-link-merchant="digidirect.com.au"">Panasonic Lumix TZ80 | AU$549 AU$466.65 at DigiDirect (save AU$90)

Already really quite affordable, this point-and-shoot camera gets you a 30x optical zoom and an 18.1MP sensor. While sensor resolution might be lower, there are 4K Video and Photo modes here, plus a Post Focus function that lets you choose the focal point after the fact. This camera was cheaper (AU$438) on Amazon last year during Black Friday, but we're not seeing it being discounted anywhere else this time around.

Instant cameras

Leica Sofort 2 (black) |AU$649AU$616.55 at DigiDirect

<a href="https://t.cfjump.com/14042/t/72917?UniqueId=hawk-custom-tracking&Url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.digidirect.com.au%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct%2Fview%2Fid%2F95297%2Fs%2Fleica-sofort-2-black-155984" data-link-merchant="digidirect.com.au"">Leica Sofort 2 (black) | AU$649 AU$616.55 at DigiDirect (save AU$32.45)

It might be a minuscule discount but keep in mind that the Sofort 2 hybrid instant camera was announced recently and has been on shelves only from the start of November. So even this little bit of a discount is amazing! Admittedly it has its flaws, which are exacerbated by its high price tag compared to other instant cameras, but it offers a lot of features to enhance your prints. If you want to own a Leica, this might be the cheapest way to get the Red Dot.

If that isn't worth taking into consideration when choosing an instant camera, we don't know what is. This offer includes a filter set for the lens and is from Amazon US, so you will need to be patient for it to ship in, but is good value for money.

If you'd rather buy local, the next best discount is at <a href="https://getprice.com.au/prodhits.aspx?refname=gplink&shopid=844&subtag=hawk-custom-tracking&link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teds.com.au%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct%2Fview%2Fid%2F19145%2Fs%2Fpolaroid-now-600-plus-instant-camera-black" data-link-merchant="teds.com.au"" data-link-merchant="digitalcameraworld.com"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Ted's Cameras for AU$280.46.

It's not a huge discount and while we think the SQ40 is the better camera, it would be remiss of us to not list this here. As part of the Square range of Instax cameras, it produces square prints as opposed to the credit card-sized ones the Mini 12 spews. This is a pretty decent saving when you consider you're not only getting a lovely instant camera but 30 square film sheets too. The SQ Instax cameras create square images instead of the credit card-sized ones from the Mini range, and is rather a good-looking and easy-to-use camera.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 |AU$119.95AU$99.95 on Amazon

Already reduced on The Good Guys' eBay store, use the checkout code HGTNOV and you'll save an additional AU$20 that drops the final price to just AU$456.

DJI Osmo Action 3 |AU$519AU$417 on Amazon

This is a great value alternative to a more premium GoPro, but then you also miss out on certain features. While it's got a wider field of view in comparison to the competition and a handy front screen, its low-light performance isn't always up to par and its 360º levelling caps out at 2.4K. However, for something that's cheaper than the GoPro, this isn't too bad, especially since the Osmo Action 4 is a lot more expensive.

If you prefer to buy directly from DJI, the <a href="https://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?awinmid=7327&awinaffid=103504&clickref=hawk-custom-tracking&p=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.dji.com%2Fau%2Fproduct%2Fosmo-action-3" data-link-merchant="dji.com"" data-link-merchant="Amazon AU"">Osmo Action 3 is AU$439.

DJI announced the Pocket 3 in October, so it's no wonder the previous-generation action camera gets a discount this Black Friday. While it doesn't handle low light as well as we would like, it's important to note it's a tiny sensor inside. Still, you get to record in 4K video and it's perfect for solo videographers.

If you've got a bit more budget to spare, we'd recommend the <a href="https://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?awinmid=7327&awinaffid=103504&clickref=hawk-custom-tracking&p=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.dji.com%2Fau%2Fproduct%2Fpocket-2%3Fvid%3D98661" data-link-merchant="dji.com"" data-link-merchant="dji.com"">DJI Pocket 2 Creator Combo for AU$599 from DJI (25%off AU$799) available via the same listing as it includes accessories that help with content creation if you're working alone.

This might be a prime lens at its core, but with a 1:2 magnification ratio, you can use this for macro shots too. Its minimum focusing distance is a mere 6.7 inches. Built-in image stabilisation and fast aperture makes this one heck of an affordable 35mm prime for Canon's R-series cameras. This lens was down to AU$650 during Black Friday last year, so you could wait to see if it drops a little further in price later this month.

This zoom lens was down to AU$3,399 last Black Friday, so this isn't the biggest discount we've seen and we're not quite expecting it to get any better this year. If this price looks right to you and you want to add a zoom lens to your Nikon Z system, this is a decent offer to consider.

Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II |AU$3,699AU$3,299 at DigiDirect

A 70-200mm zoom lens is a pretty common addition to any photographer's kit, but if you still haven't gotten one and happen to be a Sony full-frame shooter, you might want to consider this offer. It's the updated Mark II version of the already great FE 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, so you know you're getting great glass here. Hopefully there'll be a bigger discount come Cyber Weekend, but there are no guarantees.

When will Black Friday camera deals in 2023 start?

This year, the official Black Friday sale period is from November 24 through to Monday, November 27, 2023 (Cyber Monday), and some of the best camera deals won't be available after that date. However, Black Friday camera deals in Australia start about two weeks ahead of that date, so start checking retailers around November 11.

While most camera retailers usually stick with their best offers during the three week period that includes the actual sale, some can drop the prices further during Cyber Weekend proper, so you might want to wait till November 24 to see how much you can actually save.

When is Black Friday 2023?

As we've just mentioned, Black Friday this year falls on Friday, November 24. That means Cyber Monday will fall on November 27.

With just a few weeks to go before the offers begin to flow, you have just enough time to figure out what you'd like to get – a new camera for beginners, the best instant camera perhaps, or just a lens or two.

You'll get almost an entire week of the best prices on photography gear, but don't dally as stocks may be low and you could miss out.

Where to find Black Friday camera deals

Pretty much every Aussie retailer, whether a specialist camera store or a more general tech store, will be offering great discounts during Black Friday. Many of them will even price match or try and outdo the competition, so you may get lucky pitting one retailer against the other to bag the best bargain.

Chances are you won’t need to leave your home to snag a great Black Friday offer. Most in-store discounts will be offered online by the major retailers, so all you’ll need to do is keep your credit card handy and shop from your couch.

Before that, though, we’d recommend you have your shopping list ready and figure out what your budget is. Doing some research on prices now will help you determine whether a Black Friday offer is actually worth it or not when the sale finally begins.

Black Friday 2023: Shopping tips

Is Black Friday the best time to buy a camera?

As a general rule, Black Friday is a great time to buy a new camera, but not every deal is as good as it may seem initially – which is where we come in.

In some cases, retailers do mark up the prices of cameras and camera bundles in the run-up to Black Friday, in order to offer a seemingly bigger discount during the run of the actual event itself. However, this doesn't necessarily make them a bad buy though as, on many occasions, their prices still drop to mouth-watering record-lows. But in the grand scheme of things, the percentage saving may not be quite as large as advertised.

However, to combat these situations, we'll only highlight the actual saving of any Black Friday deal based on the camera's recent price history, and we will make sure it's genuinely good deal before placing it in this hub. This isn't necessarily the norm, and many cameras do simply drop to their lowest-ever price for a brief period over Black Friday.

How to find the best camera deals

Of course, the best Black Friday deals will be on this page as soon as they launch. We’ll bring you the top bargains from all the best retailers when the discounts start rolling in on, and before Black Friday. But there are a lot of different cameras to choose from, and it can get overwhelming at times, especially for photography beginners. We recommend making the most of our extensive camera knowledge to make sure you buy the right bit of kit for you come Black Friday.

If you're new to photography, a good grounding point is to start with our best camera for beginners guide. Once you've got a feel for which type of camera might suit your needs best, check out our separate guides on the best camera for photography, the best mirrorless camera, or the best Micro Four Thirds camera, and if you want to take advantage of the lowering prices of DSLRs, check out our best DSLR guide – we've got the latest advice on them all.

Can I get cashback on Black Friday camera deals?

Typically, most camera brands don't offer cashbacks during November. Instead, your debit or credit card company might. It's worth looking into, but you can be sure that retailers will price match if you see a lower offer on a particular product elsewhere.

Another interesting option to consider is layby. Some retailers will allow you to select your gear during Black Friday at the discounted prices, pay a small deposit and then pick it all up later when you pay the full amount. This is advantageous when something is out of stock too and you've been assured of incoming stock. DCW's APAC Managing Editor tried this way back in 2018, when she ordered a camera, two lenses (one of which was out of stock) and filters during Black Friday, but paid the full amount and picked up the entire kit only in mid-December.

In addition to looking after they day-to-day functioning of Digital Camera World in Australia, Sharmishta is the Managing Editor (APAC) for TechRadar as well, and helps produce two of Future's photography print magazines Down Under. Her passion for photography started when she was wandering the wilds of India studying monkeys (yes, life took a sharp turn somewhere along the way) and is entirely self-taught. That puts her in the unique position of understanding what a beginner or enthusiast is looking for in a camera or lens, and writes to help those like her on their path to developing their skills or finding the best gear. While she experiments with quite a few genres of photography, her main area of interest is nature photography – wildlife, landscapes and macro. She still prefers an optical viewfinder but is utterly fascinated with what mirrorless technology has been able to achieve.

With an ear to the ground in the Asia-Pacific territory, she is constantly on top of camera news and breaking developments in the Australian region, in addition to sourcing local deals during big retail events like Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday / Cyber Monday.
