What Nikon has taken the sensor, AF technology and processing power of the Nikon Z 6 mirrorless camera, and fit it to a Nikon D750 DSLR body. You still have an optical viewfinder of a DSLR, and while you’re using it you get the same tried and tested 51-point dedicated phase detection AF sensor. The live view experience, however, is transformed with the on-sensor phase-detection AF of the Nikon Z 6 which gives faster live view autofcus, with 273 focus points and eye detection.
Video shooting is also enhanced with uncropped 4K UHD video and the obvious benefit of the phase detection AF. The D780 also come with HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and N-Log modes for enhanced editing and grading options.

Continuous shooting is also given a boost with 7fps when using the viewfinder, and 12fps in live view mode, with silent shooting and full AF tracking. If that's not a faster enough motordrive for you, you can opt for 30fps with 8MP image capture and 120fps at 2 megapixels .
Round the back there’s a 2.36 million dot LCD display which tilts up and down - to aid framing at different camera heights, or in bright lighting.
