We are going on a Scavenger Hunt... and we want you to join us! Digital Camera magazine has teamed up with Olympus to give you a chance to try out the flagship Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II for the day on at one of Britain's best country shows.
We have six spaces up for grabs on this special reader day that will allow you to try out this groundbreaking mirrorless camera over a number of photographic challenges.
First of all, you need to be free on Friday 1 June, and be able to make your own way to the Royal Bath & West Show, which will be held at the Bath & West Showground, near Shepton Mallet in Somerset.
We will take care of your entrance ticket to the show, and provide you with your camera, lenses, advice and your series of challenges over the day. And there will be a special prize for the person who we judge to have done the best on the day! We will also feature some of the best pictures on this website, and in a special feature that will appear Digital Camera magazine.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, this workshop will help you to make the most of every opportunity and give you some great ideas and inspiration on ways to improve your photography! Everyone is welcome to apply it doesn't matter if you are not using Olympus cameras already.
If you are up for the challenge then all you have to do to apply is then to fill out your details on this Olympus page.
Each person will get a use of their own Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II for the day – and access to a bank of M.Zuiko PRO lenses to choose from. They will also be able to get help and advice from Olympus experts, and Digital Camera's own Editor-in-Chief, Chris George.
To make things fun, each person will be given a list of challenges – a list of words or phrases that they have to interpret with a picture that they take on the day. The idea is to find great images that tick off each of the items on the Scavenger Hunt list.
With a wide range of live events, stalls, exhibits and farm animals to photograph at the show, there will be plenty to challenge your photographic skills – and those of the camera.
The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II has an incredible 121 autofocus points and 5-axis image stabilisation means that it can ensure sharp shots in any situation, inside and out. There is a top burst mode of 60 frames per second, but even with continuous focus engaged you can fire off sequences of moving subjects at 18fps – perfect for capturing the action and drama of the main ring.
