The likelihood is that you’ve never seen a Nikon lens like the one that has recently turned up for sale in London. The 6mm f/2.8 lens is a staggering 11.5 pounds, has a 220-degree viewing angle and a 24x36mm image area. According to The British Journal of Photography the lens was announced in 1970 at the Photokina photography trade show and was built for scientific and industrial purposes. If you want to add this very rare lens to your collection, you only have to fork out £100,000 (or about $161,210). It might be the price of a house, but at least it’s just about big enough to give you shelter if it rains.
