DJI has announced the latest addition to its mobile gimbal series, the Osmo Mobile 3. The first DJI gimbal with a foldable design, this latest offering is sure to make significant waves in the vlogging community.

The ultra-compact phone stabilizer has been completely redesigned with locking mechanisms to ensure easy transportation. Meanwhile, the 15 hours of battery life means you'll never be caught short right when things are getting interesting.

Not only is the Osmo Mobile 3 foldable, its new design features buttons on the handle that you can use to control the gimbal's movement. Rotating your orientation from portrait to landscape doesn't require any fiddling around with taking the phone out of the holder; instead, all you need to do is press the Mode button twice to activate the Quick Roll function.

One redesigned feature sure to make videographers' ears prick up is that this version no longer obstructs the charging and audio ports, ensuring an easy connection to charge your phone or use external microphones.

Some of the other fun features found in the Osmo Mobile 3 include its Gesture Control function. This enables you to take a selfie without pressing any buttons – all you have to do is enable the feature and then show a 'peace sign' or put up your palm and the Mobile 3 will begin a photo timer countdown.

If you're interested in shooting fast-paced action, you might want to take advantage of the Sports Mode. Seemingly inspired by the DJI Ronin series, this feature increases the responsiveness of the device to keep up with quick movements. You can then pair this with the Slow Motion feature to slow your scene down by 4x or 8x.

With this being DJI's third generation of the product, and Benro having released its own version just over a week ago, it seems as if there's quite the market for mobile gimbals.

The

is available now with prices starting at £99 / $119 for the standard version.
