In good news for macro photographers, Canon has recently filed a new patent for a new Canon RF mount macro lens. This new macro lens is due to have a focal length of a 100mm and an aperture of f/2.8, making it a potentially very useful piece of glass for capturing close-up shots.

Featuring the same specs as the current EF mount Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, this new lens could be one of the best new options on the market for Canon RF users. The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L lens is one of the best macro lenses on the market and improving on that performance is no feat.
