The Canon EOS M50 is perfect for beginners and a real steal on Amazon Prime Day!

The EOS M50 is one of Canon's best cameras for novices. Canon’s EOS M mirrorless cameras combine compact dimensions with user-friendly controls, but we reckon Canon really hit the sweet spot with the EOS M50. It has super-cute styling with comfortable rounded edges, but the key features for us are the built-in electronic viewfinder and the flip-out vari-angle rear screen.

This is an affordable, friendly camera that’s well-featured and really quite versatile, even for vloggers. There are some limitations to the EOS M50’s 4K video – it has a narrower angle of view and it doesn’t use Canon’s efficient Dual Pixel CMOS AF – but we can forgive that in a camera that’s as cute and as affordable as this one.

Normally we’d recommend beginners get an entry-level DSLR, but we’ll make an exception for the EOS M50, which is probably one of the best mirrorless cameras for beginners at these prices.

Canon EOS M50 (white) & 15-45mm lens |  was £649.99 | now £499.00 (opens in new tab)
Save £150
This exactly the same deal as for the black version of the EOS M50, but we reckon this camera looks extra special in white. That’s not everyone’s taste, maybe, but it is ours! It includes the EF-M 15-45 mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM kit lens.

Canon EOS M50 (white) & 18-150mm lens | was £849.99 | now £689.99 (opens in new tab)
Save £160
The regular 15-45mm kit lens for the EOS M50 has a decent 3x zoom range, but the EF-M 18-150mm kit lens has an 8.3x zoom range – it might be the only lens you’ll ever need!

Save £200
If you don’t want the EOS M50 and EF-M 18-150mm kit deal in white, you can get this black version instead – the deal is just the same. This lens gives an equivalent zoom range of 29-240mm, which is pretty amazing in a single lens, and at this price.

Canon EOS M50 Body Only (black) | was £499.00 | now £429.00 (opens in new tab)
Save £70
Maybe you already have an EOS M camera and one or more lenses, and you’re looking for a second body, or maybe an upgrade to an older, simpler model? In that case, it makes sense to get the EOS M body only and use it with your existing lenses.
