Hollyland has launched Pyro 7 Ultra, a new model in its range of on-camera video monitors. Designed for cinematographers, directors, camera operators, digital imaging technicians, and focus pullers; Pyro 7 Ultra is said to deliver broadcast-grade color accuracy, while also being capable of long-range and low-latency wireless video transmission.
The screen itself is a 7-inch, 1920 x 1200 Quantum Dot LCD panel that features a specialized nanostructure which Hollyland says delivers exceptional color purity with cinematic depth. To ensure the best possible color accuracy, every Pyro 7 Ultra is pre-calibrated to an accuracy of Delta-E <1.5, and the display is capable of displaying 99% Rec.709 and 95% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, up to 1500 nits of brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
HDMI and SDI interfaces support loop-through and cross-output, while camera control is available on select Sony, Canon, Nikon, and ARRI camera models, with functions including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, and more. The control interface is powered by HollyOS: Hollyland's next-generation operating system that's been designed for fast-paced production environments. It sports an intuitive interface offering direct display controls, customizable monitoring layouts, and an extensive range of professional image analysis tools.
Wireless video transmission is enhanced by Hollyland's proprietary Twin-Wi-Fi technology, which simultaneously utilizes two wireless bands to create a resilient dual-path connection. Combined with automatic frequency hopping that minimizes interference in congested radio frequency environments, the Pyro 7 Ultra is able to maintain a stable wireless transmission up to a range of 1km (3,300 feet), with latency as low as 20ms in Focus Mode. The wireless connection can broadcast 4K60 video from one transmitter to an unlimited number of receivers - just the ticket if your production requires multiple monitoring locations. The Pyro 7 Ultra has been designed to be teamed with compatible Pyro transmitters, receivers, and monitors, contributing to a reliable, flexible, and scalable system that can adapt easily to productions of any size.
