Pentax has been around since 1919, when it was known as Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co. - catchy name! In that year the company became a leading supplier to Japanese camera and optical manufacturers due to having sought-after lens polishing skills. Asahi then started to manufacture its own lenses for the movie industry in 1923, named AOCO lenses, which were the first of their kind in Japan. The company concentrated its efforts on making camera lenses in 1931, when Japan's first camera boom took hold.

Fast-forward to 1954 and the name “Pentax” first appeared on their camera models, and the rest as they say is history - well kind of. In 2011, Pentax Imaging Systems was transferred to Ricoh and Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company was formed in October of that year, then in 2013 the name was changed again to Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company.

Given its unique and vivid history, it’s no wonder Pentax still sees many loyal customers wanting to invest their cash in to their products, and thanks to the team at DCW we have sourced all the best Pentax deals from Wex, and put them all in one place to make your buying decisions that little bit easier.
