Want to download Adobe Spark? We'll explain how - and more importantly help you get it at the best price - and even for free.

Let's be honest: we love Adobe apps, but most of them don't come cheap. And in general, Adobe doesn't seem to be a fan of giving them away for free. But there's one big exception: Adobe Spark.

This cool software makes it easy to create graphics, web pages, and short videos for social media, easily and quickly. So whether you're working in marketing full-time, or want to create some promotional content for your photography or side project to share on Facebook, Instagram and elsewhere, it's a great tool to have. Particularly as the starter plan version is totally free, forever.

What is Adobe Spark?

Adobe Spark is a suite of three design apps: Spark Page, Spark Post, and Spark Video. You can access the whole suite via a web browser, or if you’re using an iPhone, through separate apps for each service.

To take each app in turn:

  • Adobe Spark Page is a text and photo storytelling app. It combines word processing, desktop publishing, text editing and photo editing to help you produce typed or photo-edited stories.
  • Adobe Spark Post is an app for creating social media graphics. It combines text editing, desktop publishing, vector editing and photo editing to help you produce social media posts.
  • Adobe Spark Video is a video storytelling app that combines motion graphics, audio recording, music, text, and photos to help you produce short animated, narrated explainer videos.

These apps are not aimed at professional designers or video editors. Rather their purpose is to allow non-professionals to make slick looking content for social media, without the need for training. Plus there are lots of royalty-free templates, photos, images, fonts and icons to get you going, so you don't have to design everything from scratch each time.

Can I download Adobe Spark for free?

Yes, you can download Adobe Spark for free. With the Adobe Spark Starter Plan, both the website and the iOS apps (Spark Video, Spark Page, and Spark Post) are free, and you can use them for as long as you wish.

You do not need a Creative Cloud account, and you can use the free version of Adobe Spark to create, edit and share content, with no strings attached. Note, however, that in the free version of Adobe Spark, Adobe branding will appear on all the content you create.

To use Adobe Spark on the web for free, visit and click on the blue button titled 'Get started for free'.

To download Adobe Spark for free on iOS, you'll need to download on the following three apps separately:

Unfortunately, you cannot download Adobe Spark Video or Adobe Spark Page on Android. However, you can download Adobe Spark Post for Android, here.

What's the difference between the free and premium version of Adobe Spark?

The full version of Adobe Spark is a paid service that sits on top of the Starter Plan. This allows you access to a wider range of templates and other assets, so your designs are more likely to stand out on social media.

It also means that Adobe branding will not appear on the content you create. You can manage and update all your brand elements via a single portal. And you'll get live phone and chat support, plus dedicated email support and access to forums.

The paid version of Adobe is included with every Creative Cloud plan, or you can buy it as a stand-alone plan, either on the Spark website or via in-app purchase in the Spark iOS apps.

How can I get the premium version of Adobe Spark for free?

There's only one way you can download the premium version of Adobe Spark for free: as part of a 30-day free trial. You can access the free trial of Adobe Spark here. Simply click the button that reads ‘Start your Free Trial’ at the top, and you can either download Adobe Spark alone or start a trial of the entire Creative Cloud suite.

You’ll need to supply payment details, but don’t worry: as long as you cancel before the trial is complete, you won’t have to pay. If, however, you decide you want to keep your subscription going, you don’t have to do a thing: just sit back and let Adobe take your payments automatically.

How much does it cost to download Adobe Spark?

You can pay to download the full version of Adobe Spark in two ways. Firstly, you can take out a single-app subscription, which costs $9.99 / £10.42 / AU$14.29, as long as you commit to a year.

The alternative is to take out an All-Apps subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud. This is more expensive, but you will be able to download all of the Creative Cloud apps as well, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, After Effects and more.

An All Apps subscription currently costs $52.99 / £49.94 / AU$76.99 per month, as long as you commit to a year.

How can students and teachers download Adobe Spark for free?

Are you a teacher or an administrator working in education? Then great news: you can access the premium version of Adobe Spark for your classes for free! You'll find all the details here.

But what if you're a student and your college or university hasn't set up a classroom account? Well, the good news is, you can get a massive discount on an All Apps Creative Cloud plan.

This means you can get the premium version Adobe Spark along with entire Creative Cloud suite, along with 100GB cloud storage, Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Fonts, and Adobe Spark, for just $19.99 / £16.24 / AU$21.99 per month for the first year, and then $29.99 / £24.96 / AU$43.99 the following year.
