Canon Black Friday deals in 2020: The deep discounts to watch out for!

Canon Black Friday deals

Fall is here, and that means that the Canon Black Friday deals will soon be on the horizon! The question is, which cameras and lenses are going to see the big discounts – and when can you expect the sales to start?

Well, the Black Friday camera deals officially start on 27 November, so that's when the sales frenzy will be in full swing. However, there will be plenty of early deals leading up to the big date – so if you want to make sure you don't miss a single saving on Canon kit, bookmark this page as we'll be keeping it constantly updated!

So, here are the Canon cameras that we expect to get some deep discounts on and ahead of Black Friday, and we'll add the early deals as soon as they start appearing. And of course, there are already some Amazon Prime Day deals trickling through, so get your credit card poised to bag a bargain!

Canon EOS R5

Savings on the Canon EOS R5 already? Sure, the R5 is one of the hottest cameras (no pun intended) on the market, and it's in such demand that stocks have been scarce. However, retailers across the globe are now starting to get bodies back on shelves – and they'll all be fighting to secure your purchase. Rather than discounts, we expect deals on the R5 – great value bundles with CFexpress cards, for example. If you want hybrid 45MP shooting with 8K video and stills, this is the perfect time to buy.

As with the R5, we expect to see some great bundle deals on the R6. We'd look out for kits with both memory cards and lenses – while the best Canon RF lenses are still mostly in the high price category, non-L optics like the Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro and the brilliant Canon RF 800mm f/11 seem like no-brainer bundles to us. With its 20.1MP sensor and awesome AF on par with the flagship Canon EOS-1D X Mark III, this will be a hot ticket item.

Canon EOS Rebel SL3 • 250D

The Canon EOS Rebel SL3 / Canon EOS 250D is the manufacturer's best DSLR for beginners, making this a prime camera for some superb savings as Canon looks to welcome photography newcomers to its deep ecosystem of brilliant bodies and great glass. Already in the $600 region, we expect to see plenty of price drops on this 24.1MP APS-C camera along with some attractive bundles featuring kit lenses and other accessories.

Canon EOS RP

Ever since its release, the Canon EOS RP was in many ways a more appealing option than the original Canon EOS R. Its leaner 26.2MP sensor and more compact body made it feel like a parallel to the 6D Mark II, and it has retained a reputation as an attractive and affordable full-frame mirrorless camera. Last year we saw it slashed to £899 in the UK, and we expect similar great savings worldwide!

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III has plenty of feathers to its quill. It's one of the best compact cameras and it's among the best cameras for vlogging, thanks to its 20.1MP sensor, uncropped 4K 30p video, YouTube live streaming and ability to shoot vertical video for social media. The powerful pocket powerhouse normally carries quite a high price tag, but we think retailers will be delivering deep discounts to capitalize on the new popularity of vlogging that has arisen during lockdown life.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

Now that the Canon 5D Mark IV has been unofficially succeeded by the R5, we think there will be some brilliant bargains on this professional-grade DSLR. The tool of choice for many a working pro, the mighty 5D packs a 30.4MP sensor, dual card slots and 4K 30p video – meaning that it can handle virtually anything you throw at it. We predict that there will be some awesome Black Friday offers from both retailers and Canon directly, to tempt you away from the R5 and R6.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II was one of the best sellers during Black Friday last year, and saw some truly irresistible discounts. We expect that to be the same case this year, especially with the R6 emerging as the mirrorless replacement for one of our favorite DSLRs. If you're looking to step up to full frame imaging, we'd definitely suggest keeping your eyes peeled for 6Deals!
