There are few cameras that are quite as much fun to give as a gift as a Polaroid. And right now, the Polaroid Now Generation 3 bundle has dropped to just $134.99 at Amazon, down from $159.99, saving you a very welcome $25.

The Polaroid Now 3rd Generation is an easy-to-use instant camera that blends classic Polaroid charm with modern autofocus and simple controls, making it ideal for capturing and printing spontaneous moments in seconds.

For me, this is exactly the sort of camera gift that works whether you are shopping for a photography enthusiast, someone who simply loves taking pictures, or, quite frankly, yourself. Part of the appeal is that the Polaroid Now keeps instant photography wonderfully simple. This is a proper analog instant camera that produces those unmistakable full-size Polaroid photographs, and there is still something wonderfully satisfying about pressing the shutter and watching a physical photograph slowly appear in front of you.

The Generation 3 model also brings a few useful improvements that make it considerably easier to get good results. Polaroid has given it an upgraded two-lens autofocus system, while there are self-timer and double-exposure modes for when you want to get a little more creative.

But I think what makes this particular deal especially appealing is that this is a bundle rather than simply the camera on its own. You are getting the black Polaroid Now Generation 3 alongside 16 shots of color film, meaning whoever unwraps it can actually start shooting rather than immediately having to go out and buy film. And that makes a huge difference if you are thinking about this as a gift.

Instant cameras are one of those rare photography products that you don't necessarily need to be a photographer to enjoy. Take one to a party, family gathering, vacation, or Christmas celebration and suddenly everyone wants a photograph. Better still, rather than disappearing into a smartphone camera roll, you actually have something physical to hand over, stick on the fridge, or keep in an album.

That is part of the reason I still have such a soft spot for Polaroid. There are undoubtedly more technically sophisticated cameras out there, but that really isn't the point. The Now Generation 3 is about enjoying photography, slowing things down slightly, and creating something tangible from the moment you press the shutter.

At $159.99, I already think the camera-and-film bundle makes an attractive gift. At $134.99, saving you $25, it becomes considerably easier to recommend. If you have someone in your life who loves photography, nostalgia, or simply taking pictures with friends and family, I think this would make a brilliant gift.

Of course, there is also absolutely nothing wrong with gifting one to yourself. At $134.99, I certainly wouldn't judge you.
