Black Friday DJI deals: What we expect to see

DJI Mavic Mini

DJI has just launched its first consumer drone of the year – the DJI Mavic Mini – and we expect this to be one of the hottest gadgets to buy this Black Friday, and at $399 it is likely to be bought as gifts too. This is DJI's lightest, foldable drone to date, weighing in at just 249g or 0.55lbs – so light enough to avoid the need for registration with the authorities in the UK or the US. We wouldn't expect much discounting on this new drone – but you it is obviously still sensible to look for the very best price, or to look for retailers putting together kits that include must-have accessories (such as spare batteries).

The arrival of the new Mavic Mini means we expect expect to find some great deals on existing best DJI drones as we head towards Black Friday. The popular DJI Mavic Air has been a model that we have seen some good deals over the last year - and this is one that we expect to see offers on again. The miniature DJI Spark is also a model that we hope to see on offer (as the Mavic Mini effectively replaces this in the DJI range). We have also seen rumors of Black Friday discounts on the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and the budget-priced Ryze Tello (which DJI also makes).

DJI Osmo Action

What DJI has done in the last year is to come in strong in the action camera market – going hard at GoPro with a pair of models that are designed to appeal to adrenaline junkies and vloggers alike.

The DJI Osmo Pocket is a unique product that offers a miniature camera with a built-in gimbal that acts as a handle for the device. This is likely to be one of the hottest gadgets to buy this Christmas - and whilst Black Friday discounts won't be dramatic - we will probably see some great bundle deals, with retailers offering DJI Osmo Pocket accessories to sweeten the deal.

The latest DJI camera is the Osmo Action - this is already attractively priced, but with GoPro introducing the its new Hero8, and reducing prices of its older Hero7 cameras, we can expect some deals or bundles here.

DJI Osmo Mobile 3

DJI's best selling gimbal is the Osmo Mobile - and we have just seen the introduction of the Osmo Mobile 3, which offers a motorized stabilizer for smartphones that folds down into a much smaller size for transportation. You might therefore expect the Osmo Mobile 2 to be a cheaper option now - but in fact we have found that the Osmo Mobile 3 is usually the cheaper (and better) option to go for.

Also look out for deals on its larger Ronin gimbal stabilizers, that are designed for DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.
