The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is a new rugged smartphone build for tough environments

Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, a rugged smartphone designed for field and factory work with complete protection against dust and water. Not only does it feature a tough and rugged design, but it also has improved touch sensitivity for use with gloves and an easy-to-charge replaceable battery for all-day productivity.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 has enhanced shock absorption that enables the handset to withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters. Meanwhile, the IP68-rated dust and water resistance means that it can be submerged in over a meter of water for longer than 30 minutes.

The Galaxy XCover 5 is a device that addresses the challenges employers in the field often face, from ensuring protection of sensitive material to durable use in any environment.

"Whether on the factory floor or in extreme heat, rain or snow in outdoor conditions – it can keep up with the demands of the job, while improving productivity and increasing collaboration to make day-to-day work easier and more efficient.”
Featuring the Exynos 850 chipset, 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 seems to be more than simply a rugged exterior. It also has a replaceable 3,000mAh battery that supports fast charging through USB and POGO pins. The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 also comes with a single 16MP f/1.8 rear camera and a 5MP f/2.2 front camera.
The new Galaxy XCover 5 will be available from March 2021 in select markets including Asia, Europe and Latin America. Availability will expand to other regions at a later date that is yet to be specified. At present, there is no pricing information available.
