Fujifilm is due to announce a Fujifilm X-T30 Mark II instead of the widely anticipated X-T40 in September 2021, according to some interesting new rumors. Ever since Fujifilm first released the X-T1 in 2014, there has always been an X-T10 equivalent – up until now.
Prior to the release of the Fujifilm X-T4, Fujifilm X-T announcements have always coincided with the release of similar, smaller-bodied cameras that are ideal for those looking for a more compact system. The X-T30, for example, had the same BSI-CMOS sensor, contrast detect focus system and X- Processor 4 as the X-T3. In fact the only major differences between them were the built-in flash, a few video specs and the viewfinder resolution.

According to Fuji Rumors, rather than completely overhauling the Fujifilm X-T30 to include Fujifilm X-T4 features such as in-body image stabilization (IBIS) and 4K/60P video, this new camera will feature more subtle differences.
Instead, we could possibly see Fujifilm change the position of some buttons and dials, update the AF software, include more film simulations and replace old components with new, just as Sony did with the Sony A7R IV A.
Other possible updates include upgrading the number of screen dots to run in line with the Fujifilm X-E4 and Fujifilm X-T4. We believe that the likelihood of this new camera coming with a fully articulated screen is minimal, as this upgrade would run more in line with the release of an X-T40.
Anyone hoping for a true upgrade from the X-T30 will probably be left disappointed with Fujifilm's latest rumor. Fujifilm X-T2/X-T20 users would arguably be better off upgrading to the Fujifilm X-S10, or holding out to see if the Fujifilm X-T40 is announced next year.
If the Fujifilm X-T30 II is announced on 02 September, as alleged on the Fuji Rumors site, the original Fujifilm X-T30 may well be discontinued shortly after.
