Skylum, the photo-editing software brand behind Luminar (formerly Luminar Neo), has launched Luminar on Web, a brand-new platform that promises to bring Luminar’s advanced editing tools to your browser window.

But far from a pared-down experience, Skylum is touting “technologies and workflows that have never existed on the web before,” with cross-platform RAW editing and cross-device syncing, Light Depth technology, and a shared Prime assets library all featured.

Luminar has been focusing on cross-platform editing since the release of the Luminar Ecosystem last year, and this latest release now means that Luminar is also the world’s first photo editor with a lifetime license across desktop, mobile and web.

Skylum is targeting its browser-based offering at a broad range of skill levels, calling it "capable enough for advanced users yet simple enough for beginners." The software is designed to work on any device with a web browser, so you don’t have to worry about accommodating large swathes of local storage.

Skylum is also calling it the first online editor to feature presets and LUTs, combined, as well as the first web editor with a "broader landscape, portrait, and everyday editing toolkit."

And of course, Luminar on Web is bringing with it a whole host of Luminar’s famous AI-powered tools, including GenErase, Photo Restoration, Sky, Bokeh, and more. Luminar on Web is available right now. The software’s basic functionality can be used for free, providing access to basic tools, full RAW file support, 100MB of cloud storage, and standard-quality exports.

You can also buy a lifetime Web Full Access plan ($69 / £69), which also includes Luminar on Mobile and comes with additional features including: presets, filters, Erase and Light Depth, unlimited AI edits, cloud storage access from web and mobile, and cross-device editing. Skylum has also introduced a $159 / £159 All Platforms plan, which adds Luminar on Desktop to the package.
