Save AU$479 on Sony's best compact camera with this eBay Australia deal

Sony has managed to pack a heck of a lot of tech into its latest Cyber-shot RX100 camera, making the seventh iteration of this very popular line perhaps the best point-and-shoot camera the electronics giant has produced to date.

For starters, there's a large 1-inch 20.1MP sensor under the hood of the RX100 VII that captures crisp images with striking detail, framed through a Zeiss lens featuring an impressive 24-200mm zoom range. Then there's the pop-up viewfinder that's barely visible when not in use, giving the little camera a neat and minimalist aesthetic.

It's fair to say this pocket rocket is one of the most expensive compact cameras currently on the market, but it's possible to save some dosh if you look hard enough. Like this offer on eBay, thanks to VideoPro, where it's listed at a much more affordable price – over 22% lower than Sony's own price tag if you're crunching numbers. So if you've been lusting after what is one of the best point-and-shoot cameras, then this is your chance.
