Canon to break into smartphones?

As the line between smartphones and cameras continues to blur, perhaps it's not surprising that Canon is apparently designed smartphone-focused tech. A new rumor reports that Canon has designed a smartphone lens add-on, which will apparently be capable of different focal lengths and will likely be held together magnetically, according to the leaked design images.

While lenses for iPhone and Android phones have been around for a while, Canon's design looks much, much larger than the majority of the products currently available. While most products will slot over the phone's camera, it's not immediately clear whether this design from Canon would do the same.
