Google has just unveiled the latest Pixel camera phones – the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL – with promises including "major camera upgrades", Google's "fastest, most powerful chip" and, of course, lots of AI.
There's also a new, one-swipe Magic Capture mode "which catches the moment while you live it".
In terms of the cameras, the Google Pixel 11 boasts a larger 48MP main sensor (1/1.56-inch) that the company claims will deliver 56% more light sensitivity. The 5x telephoto lens takes advantage of the new Tensor G6 processor to deliver 30x Super Zoom.
The Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL likewise get a brand new sensor in the main 50MP camera (1/1.3-inch) that is claimed to be "Pixel's best camera yet". The 48MP telephoto also gets a larger sensor (1/1.95-inch) with 30% more light sensitivity and Portrait Mode at up to 5x, with up to 120x Pro Zoom.
The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold gets upgrades that appear to be in line with the base Pixel 11, in the form of a new 48MP main camera (1/1.56-inch) and up to 30x Super Zoom.

What is Magic Capture on Google Pixel 11 phones?
New to the Pixel 11 generation is Magic Capture mode, "which catches the moment while you live it".
According to Google, "You don’t have to stress out over perfectly timed shutter taps, or stare at your viewfinder the whole time you’re capturing content. With one tap, get a video and high-quality photos which are share-ready, thanks to automatic cropping and unblurring."
Google does, however, point out in the small print that "results may vary".
Also new this year is Camera Looks, which enables you to "create your own set of distinct, professional-grade film styles and unique photo aesthetics, so you can take HDR+ photos that feel true to you.
"Developed with Pixel’s Real Tone philosophy in mind, Camera Looks ensures that even with highly stylised or personalised effects, we still deliver consistent, equitable results across all skin tones."
All four phones are available for pre-order now, with an August 20 official on-sale date. Prices start at $899 / £879 for the Pixel 11, $1,099 / £1,079 for the Pixel 11 Pro, $1,299 / £1,279 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL and $1,899 / £1,799 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold (international pricing to follow).
