The magic of film photography just simply can't be replicated by digital cameras – no matter how technologically advanced they are. Luckily, The Photography Show & The Video Show Virtual Festival has a whole host of sessions dedicated to celebrating the unique beauty of film photography.
The Analogue Spotlight features five exciting sessions exploring film photography, from digitizing film to celebrating black & white film. These are a great way to rekindle your love for analogue cameras – or even explore a burgeoning interest.

The Photography Show & The Video Show Virtual Festival (opens in new tab) is set to go live on 20 and 21 September – and there's plenty of exciting talks and live kit demos to look forward to. In absence of the usual trip to Birmingham, there will be a virtual festival complete with over 120 exhibitors and over 170 free talks over the Sunday and Monday.
One of the sessions we're most looking forward to in the Analogue Spotlight is from Kosmo Foto, a boutique British brand who's delivering a beginner's guide to Soviet cameras. Vintage Soviet cameras – and the vintage lenses that go with them – are becoming increasingly popular and are a fantastic way to get back to basics and think outside of the box.
The Analogue Spotlight will also feature an interesting look behind the scenes of Bill Manning's 'Embrace the grain' film photography podcast. You can catch all of the exciting film photography-focused sessions (opens in new tab) at The Photography Show & The Video Show Virtual Festival.
