Poco releases not just one but two 50MP camera phones for under £270
A phone with 50MP dual AI camera system for just £159? Poco is offering unbelievable specs for the price
A lot of the best camera phones deliver 50MP camera technology, but with many of them offering flagship specs they also attract flagship prices. With the release of the Poco X8 and Poco C95 Pro, Xiaomi's value phone brand, Poco is aiming to buck the trend.
The Poco X8 retails at a price of £329 but, in an attempt to attract customers, the handset can be snapped up for just £269. If that seems like aggressive sales tactics, then it's nothing compared to the Poco C95 Pro – which is discounted down from £249 to just £159.
Both handsets feature 50MP main cameras, but it's the Poco X8 that offers the best overall camera specs. In fact, Poco has upgraded the imaging system with the aim of elevating "portrait quality across all scenarios to help users capture the moments with true authenticity."
Its 50MP main camera, equipped with optical image stabilization and electronic image stablization, is backed up by a 16MP front camera, both of which promise "greater detail in diverse lighting conditions."
Aside from the hardware, one of the most innovative features available on the X8 is Dual Video, which enables users to capture both front and rear views at the same time. This feature is aimed directly at content creators who want to create more dynamic and engaging content without requiring further investment in additional cameras.
Another feature available on the X8 is the AI editing tools, including AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Image Enhancement, and AI Beautify.
The C95 Pro also features a 50MP main camera, but at the front Poco has opted for a lower-resolution 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. There's also no Dual Video video recording like there is on the X8.

Beyond the cameras
Both phones offer industry-leading battery specs, with the X8 featuring a huge 8,340mAh battery and the C95 Pro still having an impressive 7,500mAh battery. The result of these batteries is more than two days of battery life on a single charge.
Where the C95 Pro shines in comparison, the X8 is in its immersive display, which, at 6.9 inches, is slightly larger than the 6.83 found on the more expensive X8. Both displays offer sufficient nits of brightness to be used in bright sunlight.
Availability
The Poco X8 and Poco C95 Pro are now available in the UK. The X8 can be purchased at Mi in three different colors: White, Black, and Orange with one variant: 8GB + 256GB.
The C95 Pro is available in three colors exclusively on Amazon: Blue, Green and Black and comes in two variants: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB.
