Cyber Monday camera deals: Jump straight to…
We'll be posting them all here, so if you’re in market for some new photography gear, make sure you bookmark this page and return back closer to the time.
But what sort of Cyber Monday camera deals are we expecting this year? How will they compare to Black Friday’s camera bargains – is it worth holding on? And when is Cyber Monday 2018, anyway?
Here’s everything you need to know about Cyber Monday this year...
When is Cyber Monday 2018?
This year, Cyber Monday falls on the 26 November. It’s always the first Monday after Black Friday, which this year is 23 November.
Cyber Monday vs Black Friday: what’s the difference?
These days, there’s very little difference between the two events. Traditionally Black Friday largely occurred on the high street, whereas Cyber Monday was an opportunity for online stores to also grab a slice of consumers’ wallets. Of course, now Black Friday sees as many offers online as it does in-store (although Cyber Monday remains online only).
What sort of Cyber Monday camera deals can we expect to see this year?
Cyber Monday 2018 will likely bring with it a continuation of many retailers’ Black Friday promotions. For photographers, that means substantial discounts on camera bodies and compacts (we think some of the most popular deals will be on action cameras), huge savings on bundles and refurbs, and huge price drops on accessories like memory cards and so on. Here’s a closer look at our predictions for this year…
The best Cyber Monday DSLR deals: predictions
The best Cyber Monday DSLR deals in 2018 will come from...
Amazon US, Amazon UK, eBay US, eBay UK and B&H Photo. Certainly we expect to see some excellent Cyber Monday Canon and Nikon DSLR deals from Amazon in particular, but last year we also saw very competitive offers coming directly from manufacturers, too. So what sort of savings are we talking? Well, in 2017, we saw the Canon T6 with 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses and a bag on sale for $449 – down from $749. The price of a Canon EOS 80D with 18-135mm lens was also slashed by $500. This year, B&H Photo is already offering the Nikon D3400 with 18-55mm and 70-300mm lenses for $546.95, down from $846.95. We expect to see a lot more big bundle savings like this in the run up to and during Cyber Monday this year.
Cyber Monday mirrorless cameras: predictions
The best Cyber Monday mirrorless camera deals in 2018 will come from... Amazon US / Amazon UK, eBay US, eBay UK, B&H Photo, NewEgg and Walmart – and if last year is anything to go by, mirrorless cameras are where the biggest Cyber Monday camera savings will be found this time around. In 2017, we saw $300 knocked off the Panasonic Lumix G7 with 14-42 kit lens, while B&H Photo knocked $600 off the Olympus E-M5 Mark II Camera with 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Lens. And our favourite deal dropped the price of the full-frame Sony A7 and FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens kit to just £799 after cashback. Amazon Prime Day dropped it even further (down to £569 after cashback), so if you’re thinking about investing in a mirrorless camera, Cyber Monday promises plenty of good deals.
Cyber Monday point-and-shoot camera deals: predictions
The best Cyber Monday point-and-shoot camera deals in 2018 will come from... Again, the usual suspects: Amazon US / Amazon UK, eBay US, eBay UK, B&H Photo, NewEgg and Walmart. Savings will typically be around $50-$150 (the Canon EOS M100 with 15-45mm lens dropped to $499 from $599 last year, for example). In fact, you can already grab the excellent Canon PowerShot SX730 from Amazon for $379 / £277 (down from $399.99 / £379.99) – and we’re anticipating a host of Cyber Monday deals on compacts this year.
