The Camp Snap is the camera that arguably sparked a screen-free camera movement – but the small business’ latest refresh brings an even more Y2K look to its retro budget compact camera. The Camp Snap 2 just launched in an all-clear Arctic Frost colorway.
The second-generation Camp Snap launched earlier this summer with a refreshed design that provides access to built-in retro filters without a computer, a slimmer design and less shutter lag. Those updates come with the same concept that Camp Snap is built around: a screen-free shooting experience.
Despite only launching in June 2026, Camp Snap has been steadily adding to the second generation’s color options.
While a handful of semi-transparent models arrived with the initial launch, the latest option in the lineup removes the color from the semi-transparent series, creating a frosted white look that shows off some of the camera’s inner workings.
The fresh look brings a clear option for those who aren’t fans of the semi-transparent bold colors in the lineup, like the lime green, icy blue, bright pink, or purple that are already part of the Jelly Edition options.
Arctic Frost brings the semi-transparent design without the bright color, bringing a hint of the Y2K-era transparent tech trend to the viral compact camera.
When I tried the Camp Snap 2, I loved the new ability to swap filters at the press of a button – but I could still disable this feature when I handed it over to my 6-year-old.
The Camp Snap CS-Pro is probably my favorite in the lineup for adults, but the Camp Snap 2 comes in a hard-to-resist $70 / £54 / AU$130 price point and blends the charm of a disposable camera with the convenience of digital.
The new Arctic Frost colorway is already available from Camp Snap, where the compact camera sells for about $70 / £54 / AU$130. Like the other Camp Snap 2 colors, a memory card is included in that cost and pre-installed.
The company also offers stick-on gemstone packs to add personalized flair to the camera.
