Image shot on an iPhone 7 wins a bar of gold! (Plus a photography award)

The winners of the 14th annual iPhone Photography Awards have officially been announced, showcasing an incredible range of images – and the top prize, a bar of gold, was scooped up by a shot taken on a five-year-old iPhone 7. 

While the best iPhones for photography are impressive pieces of tech in their own right, their cameras still can't quite compete with the best professional cameras. However, the wildlife, portrait, documentary and landscape photography shown in this year's competition truly prove that it's not the kit you have – it's how you use it.
