An astonishing prize pool worth $80,000 is up for grabs in the Insta360 Vision Awards. Supported by Leica, this competition looks set to break new ground for both the videography and photographic communities, building a platform for creatives to share their work and have it seen globally – and be in with a chance of taking home huge prizes including a Leica Q3 and limited edition Insta360 Ace Pro 2 bundles.

The Insta360 Vision Awards invites photo and video shooters to share their creative vision with the world. Insta360 and Leica are looking for “the pinnacle of storytelling”, with a focus on visual impact, creativity and technical skills. Entry is open to anyone in the world, shooting on any kind of equipment – though your chances might be improved if you use an Insta360 camera, with seamless entry via the Community feature of the Insta360 app.

The beauty of this competition is that you can enter as many times as you wish, giving you the opportunity to share multiple pieces that you’re proud of. This makes the Insta360 Vision Awards not just a chance to win prizes, but a place to participate in a genuine community where your work can be seen by creatives all over the world – including by influential figures from Insta360 and Leica.

Entry by Chillmobilephotos: "In general, many photographers tend to avoid using wide and ultra-wide lenses in everyday storytelling, as these lenses can be challenging when it comes to controlling composition… My approach, however, was different. I wanted to design a semi-street photography style that embraces a wide perspective while still capturing movement and everyday life. The wide and ultra-wide capabilities of the Insta360 Ace Pro allowed me to create images that feel more immersive, dynamic, and visually striking" (Image credit: Insta360 • @Chillmobilephotos)

Influential creatives supporting creative influencers

Among the judges are Danny Wang, Insta360’s head of creative, who is in charge of shaping the brand’s creative vision for the future, along with Valentin Gienger, marketing manager for Leica Galleries DE, who brings an international background in traditional photography and the art of image-making.

With these kinds of eyes looking over the competition, it’s a fantastic opportunity to show off your creativity to some of the industry’s key players – as well as to inspire fellow photographers and videographers across the globe.

“Through my creations, I hope to share the calmness and emotional depth of the underwater world with as many people as possible,” says Kana, an underwater content creator based in Japan who wants to share the beauty of Okinawa’s ocean with the world.

“In Japan, there is a beautiful concept called Ichigo Ichie, which means treasuring a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. I deeply connect with this idea, and I feel the same way underwater.

“Every scene, sound, and emotion beneath the surface exists only in that exact moment and will never be repeated. What inspires me most is capturing those fleeting moments – sunlight filtering through the water, fish moving together like a single living form, and brief eye contact with marine life– moments that can only be experienced once.”

Insta360 and Leica: the perfect creative collaboration

The Insta360 Vision Awards is supported by Leica – the latest effort in the long-term partnership between the two imaging giants. On the one hand, it has been extraordinary for the development of camera technology; when Leica first lent its imaging heritage to the Insta360 One R in 2020, it supercharged the action camera market.

That partnership has gone from strength to strength, culminating in the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 – a flagship camera co-engineered with Leica, boasting Summarit optics and Leica color profiles, combined with a dual AI chip and 8K sensor.

The Ace Pro 2 has even transcended the action camera segment and become a player in the world of street and reportage photography, thanks to the Xplorer Grip Pro, which combines with the camera to make what YouTuber George Holden calls “a pocket-sized Leica that’s a street photography beast”.

But the collaboration between the two parties is about more than just cutting-edge camera tech. Insta360 and Leica are also committed to building a robust platform for creative exchange within the community, enabling photographers and videographers to contribute to a vibrant creator ecosystem. And the Insta360 Vision Awards are central to this initiative.

Entry by 朱仕杰: "The inspiration probably comes from my long-standing wish to photograph four generations together. In the current context of low birth rates, it's already quite rare for the older generation to see their great-grandchildren. The chances of the great-grandmother being in good health and activities are even slimmer, let alone her giving a haircut to her great-grandson… This scene moved me deeply. The great-grandmother's craft is being passed down, carrying a warmth that transcends generations and conveying a touching power" (Image credit: Insta360 • @朱仕杰)

Entry by Manuel Kristofi: "The submitted images were taken spontaneously while walking through the woods. I set off a little late, and as the sun set and the fog slowly rose, I wanted to see if I could capture this beautiful natural spectacle in a picture. Nature is the most beautiful painter. Some moments in nature should be cherished deep in one's heart, even when the weather is so cold that one's breath looks like fog" (Image credit: Insta360 • @Manuel Kristofi)
