Share your special snaps to create comfort and happiness in difficult times, says Fujifilm (Image credit: Fujifilm/Getty)

The online initiative to glean a snapshot of life across Europe under Covid-19 is back for 2021 – and is open to all photographers, whether they shoot on a camera or cameraphone.

printlife@home launched in 2020 after Fujifilm’s global 100,000 Photos exhibition was postponed due to the pandemic.

It became a great way for amateur, professional and hobbyist photographers to connect with each other, and more than 10,500 photos were uploaded.

To continue harnessing the power of photography to offer comfort and happiness in difficult times, Fujifilm is again asking the public to share their special snaps – and also arrangements or displays of photos at home, to create the sense of walking through personal galleries.

And this year, 500 photos entered into printlife@home will be selected for a physical exhibition at The Photography Show & The Video Show, 18-21 September at the NEC Birmingham, UK.

printlife@home participants can upload their favourite photos to the exhibition; images displayed on the exhibition website will be entered in the weekly photo challenge, which is themed.

The current theme is ‘Extraordinary Encounters’ – for which the challenge reads: “Have you experienced an extraordinary encounter? Show us how you captured it.”

Five Photos of the Week will be selected by an independent jury to reward the most meaningful stories and creative contributions.

Winners of the weekly challenge will get their photos profiled by Fujifilm, plus receive a voucher of £200/€200, £150/€150 or £100/€100 – or the currency equivalent.

This voucher can be spent on Fujifilm photo printing products or an instax mini 40 or instax mini 11 camera, both with instax mini film provided.

printlife@home is open until 5 December 2021. Enter now, via www.fujifilm-printlife.eu

“Over the last 18 months, so many of us have returned to old photos to remind us of what life was like before the global pandemic, searching for the comfort of nostalgia,” says David Honey, General Manager Photo Imaging at Fujifilm Europe.

“At Fujifilm, we strongly believe in the power of photography to capture and preserve memories for years to come, with each photo telling its own unique story.

“Whether you consider yourself a professional photographer or you prefer to capture your own memories on your smartphone camera, printlife@home is open to all to share these stories.”

David Honey added: “This year, after so long apart, we want printlife@home to help bring people together in a creative way and encourage everyone to get involved with their friends and loved ones on SoMe, and by bringing physical photo prints of their special moments into their homes with myFUJIFILM.

“We hope that this exhibition inspires people everywhere to join us and be part of something truly unique and special, together.”
