Before testing the Birdfy Feeder Metal, I enjoyed feeding the birds in my garden but had never really thought about monitoring exactly what was visiting throughout the day. That changed remarkably quickly once I installed it. The built-in 1080p camera, motion detection, and Birdfy app mean you can receive notifications whenever something arrives, while AI bird identification can even help tell you exactly what species has stopped by.
What impressed me immediately was just how well made it is. The metal construction feels far more substantial than I expected from a smart bird feeder, while the adjustable perch can be moved to accommodate everything from smaller garden birds to larger visitors. Mounting is also flexible, with options for a pole, wall, or tree, and I found the whole installation process refreshingly straightforward when setting up my review sample.
The real magic starts once the birds discover it. I quickly found myself checking notifications to see which regular visitors had returned, while the app organizes recordings and bird activity in a way that makes the whole experience genuinely enjoyable rather than overwhelming. Image quality from the 1080p camera is more than good enough for identifying birds, watching their behaviour, and sharing clips with friends and family.
At $239.99, I already thought the Birdfy Feeder Metal was a fantastic device for bird lovers, but at $175.99 it is a particularly good deal. Saving $64 on my favourite smart garden gadget makes this one of the more unusual Amazon deals I would happily recommend, whether you want to discover what is visiting your own garden or are looking for a brilliant gift for the birdwatcher in your life.
