These Canon binoculars stabilize the view for you – and they’re now $92 cheaper
Want 12x magnification without the shakes? These Canon IS binoculars are now on sale
Amazon has knocked $92.70 off the Canon 12x36 IS III Image Stabilized Binoculars, bringing them down to $786.30 from their usual $879 price.
That is a very welcome saving on one of Canon’s most interesting high-magnification binoculars, particularly if you want extra reach without having to carry a tripod everywhere you go.
The Canon 12x36 IS III binoculars combine powerful 12x magnification with built-in image stabilization, making distant birds, wildlife, aircraft, and sporting action much easier to view steadily by hand.

The headline feature here is obviously Canon’s image stabilization. At 12x magnification, even small hand movements can become distracting, but the built-in stabilization helps calm that movement and gives you a much steadier view. It makes a real difference when you are watching birds, wildlife, aircraft, sporting events or anything else at distance.
The 36mm objective lenses also strike a useful balance between light gathering and portability. These are not tiny binoculars, but they remain considerably easier to carry than many large high-powered models, while still giving you enough magnification to pull distant subjects much closer.
I have always found image-stabilized binoculars particularly interesting because they solve one of the biggest problems with higher magnification optics. A conventional 12x binocular can look fantastic on paper, but if you cannot keep the image steady enough to see the extra detail, that magnification quickly becomes less useful. Canon’s stabilization helps you actually make use of that additional reach.
At $786.30, these are still premium binoculars, but saving $92.70 certainly makes them more tempting. If you have been looking for a powerful pair of binoculars for wildlife, birdwatching, aviation or long-distance observation, the Canon 12x36 IS III offers something very different from a conventional pair, and this Amazon deal makes them considerably easier to justify.
