Explore exciting photography workshops at The Photography Show

The Photography Show and The Video Show is just over a week away and if you're still planning out your show itinerary, make sure you add one of these photography workshops and events to your list. From analog photography to abstract photography, these are the perfect cherry to sit atop your The Photography Show cake.

One of the most exciting events will come from The Sunny 16 Podcast, which will be recording a special live podcast where the team will be discussing the future of film photography with a panel of guests who are all involved in making that future happen. This live recording will be on Saturday 14 March from 5PM - 6PM at the Behind the Lens Theatre, Hall 5. It's free to enter with a show entry ticket.

If you're not interested in The Sunny 16 Podcast, maybe you'd enjoy the Abstract Photography workshop instead, run by Jane Hau and Alex Laberge. This workshop will help you discover the relationship between light and shadow, color, shapes and texture – and how they can all interact to create stunning imagery from everyday situations. Join the workshop on Saturday 14 March from 5:15PM - 6:45 PM at the Social Stage, Hall 5. The price is £10 on top of your show entry ticket.

We're also looking forward to the Golden Hour Film Photowalk, run by photographer and designer Dan Rubin. You'll get the chance to meet, shoot with, and chat to fellow film enthusiasts in this analogue photowalk. Not only will you receive hands-on expertise, but you'll also receive a roll of 35mm or 120mm film provided by Ilford – plus a voucher for their onsite lab service too! This photowalk is on Monday 16 March from 4PM - 5:30PM at Stand B93 Harman / Ilford. The tickets are £8 on top of your show entry ticket.

Monday is also when the Women Who Photo & Film talk will be on. The Photography Show and The Video Show has once again partnered with a group of inspiring women who will be sharing their diverse experiences and delivering step-by-step advice for those wanting to become serious filmmakers and photographers. This talk will be on the Shutter Street stage in Hall 5 on Monday 16 March from 4:20PM - 5PM. This talk is free with a show entry ticket, but will work on a first come first served basis.

And last, but certainly not least, there will also be The Art of Smartphone Filmmaking workshop on Monday 16 March. This exclusive one-off workshop will be run by award-winning smartphone filmmaker Imran Azam. You'll learn about planning your shoots, the technical skills you need to film on your smartphone, how to edit using freely available apps, and publishing to social channels best practice. Find this workshop at the Masterclass Stage in Hall 5 from 2PM - 3:30PM. The tickets are £8 on top of your show entry ticket.
