Canon EOS R5 and R6 to get new raft of features with next firmware update in early 2021

A new firmware update is rumored to bring Canon Cinema RAW light, C-Log 3 & 1080p @ 120fps to the EOS R5 in Q1 2021

A new firmware update is supposedly in the making for Canon's mirrorless EOS R5 and R6 cameras, said to be dropping at some time during the first quarter of 2021. While no specs for the EOS R6 firmware are available, we gather that the firmware for the EOS R5 will reportedly add Canon Cinema RAW light, C-Log 3 and 1080p Full HD video recording at 120 frames per second.

Firmware version 1.2.0 came to the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 recently on November 11th. This recent update fixed a few bugs and user issues, but felt like more of a fine-tuning rather than adding any big beefy features. On the other hand the prior update 1.1.0 had a more significant performance boost, vastly improving the record and recovery times on the EOS R6, while also addressing overheating issues.
