Other cameras stop when you’ve taken the shot. But your creativity is just getting started – which is why you need workflow support
A camera just takes images, but LUMIX’s comprehensive workflow support helps creators manage projects from concept through to capture and deadline delivery day

LUMIX is best known for its incredible lineup of mirrorless cameras, from portable powerhouses like the LUMIX S9 to the full frame flagship firepower of the LUMIX S1II and S1RII. But as professional creators know, the camera is just one step of the process
Whether you’re delivering work to clients or part of a small team working to tight deadlines, it’s the workflow beyond the camera that really counts – which is why it’s so strange that other manufacturers offer little to no support to the wider creative process.
This is what makes LUMIX stand apart from other brands. Because while LUMIX cameras enable you to get impressive shots, it’s LUMIX’s comprehensive suite of workflow support that enables you to get the entire project done and delivered.
From integrated tools such as open gate video to capture multiple aspect ratios at the same time, available on all current S series cameras, to dedicated mobile apps and professional partnerships, LUMIX not only understands but actively supports the creative process and workflow.
Straight out of camera, and direct to the cloud
From color grading to cloud sharing, LUMIX empowers creators not only to achieve their vision but to easily share it with the rest of the team to help bring it to life.
It all starts with the color grade – and LUMIX is renowned in the industry for its outstanding Color Science Technology and Three-Dimensional Color Control. With the mantra “Capture True Color”, LUMIX cameras deliver natural and authentic color rendition straight out of camera – with consistency across the entire range of G and S series bodies, making it seamless to match footage and streamline editing even with multi-camera setups.
Transferring and sharing your files is made easier than ever thanks to LUMIX’s creative partnerships. LUMIX customers can claim a completely free three-month trial of Capture One, enabling you to edit your images across mobile and desktop as well as get live feedback from your team via the Live Unlimited collaboration tool.
And with Frame.io integration for S5II, S5IIX, S1IIE, S1II, S1RII and GH7, users can enjoy superfast workflow and collaboration for their footage. Supercharge social media or get urgent assets to clients with lightning-fast deliverables; share and receive feedback from clients in real time, within minutes of creation; and fast-track editing with cloud-accessible assets to make collaborative cutting possible regardless of location.
To help with easy cloud uploads, users can record ProRes or 4K video files to one memory card or SSD while capturing a duplicate FullHD 10-bit HEVC file by proxy – so that the smaller file can go to the cloud for quick edits and client approvals. In tandem with Real Time LUTs, which make it possible to apply color grades at the point of capture rather than during post-production, the final look can be shared with clients quickly and easily.
Let it FLOW
Arguably the secret weapon of LUMIX’s unbeatable workflow, the aptly named LUMIX FLOW app – compatible with the S1IIE, S1II, and S1RII, with more models being added soon – transforms your smartphone or tablet into the backbone of your production from concept to creation.
With LUMIX FLOW, your phone sits at the heart of your creative process. Create and edit scripts, sketches, storyboards and shot lists in the pre-production stage, so you’re ready when the camera starts rolling.
When it’s time to film, your phone becomes an external monitor – which not only enables you to easily change camera settings, but to check off your shot list to ensure that you never go home without the shots you need. You can also rate each take and edit as you’re working, sharing on set and collaborating with clients and crew, streamlining the editing process before you even wrap!
The app is simple yet supremely powerful, giving you versatile templates and options to tailor make your production pipeline whether you’re filming scripted work, music videos or corporate content. In standalone LUMIX Mode, for example, you start by creating your project, then creating the script, storyboard or shot list.
Once you’ve edited everything, you can create sketches and storyboard drawings to block out your scene, then proceed to record or XML export – where your folders will be automatically organized.
LUMIX FLOW really comes into its own on set, in the companion Smartphone / Tablet Mode. When shooting scripted content, you can build and organize your shots from the storyboards you’ve created – and then tag the “OK” takes as you capture them, so your editor knows what to use.
For music and dance videos, you can select music and sync with your footage using the intuitive timeline-based review – then export your shot selections quickly for editing.
And for documentary and corporate work, you can organize and log your footage in real-time – and streamline your post-production by immediately filtering the usable clips.
Send your creations to the Lab
Sometimes you don’t need everything in the cloud for everyone on your team to approve – you just need to get your files onto your phone so you can get working or sharing on social. And this is where the LUMIX Lab app comes into play – made for creators to shoot, edit and share faster than ever before.
S9, S5II, S5IIX, S1IIE, S1II, S1RII, GH7 and G9II users can quickly offload files to a phone with high-speed 5GHz Wi-Fi. And thanks to automatic image transfer, you don’t even need to do it manually; your photos and MP4 Lite proxies will automatically beam to your phone every time you shoot.
Fittingly, LUMIX Lab is also the creative laboratory where you can build and refine your own LUTs. Make your favorite (or your clients’ favorite!) color grades and adjustments, then save your preferences as an original LUT – which you can instantly apply to your files. If you can’t quite find the right mix, take a look at the huge library of LUTs from fellow LUMIX creators that you can download and use on your own projects.
Best of all, once you’ve created or downloaded a LUT, you can transfer it to your camera using LUMIX Lab and apply it to your photos and videos as a Realtime LUT. This will color grade your files in-camera, as you record them, cutting down your post-production time.
Turn up the volume
LUMIX also offers unique workflow solutions to volume photographers, with a software key that unlocks a raft of features for school and sports portraits, corporate headshots and even public portraiture on cruise ships and in theme parks.
Specialized masks for sports, single and group portraits feature multiple markers and crop marks to ensure consistent body positioning, head sizing and prop positioning – again, a precision pre-production tool that takes the scattershot editing out of post-production.
The Volume Shooting Software Key also offers support for Bluetooth barcodes and QR codes, compatible with Opticon scanners and software such as TotalSchools, PhotoLynx, Captura, ImageQuix, GotPhoto, Darkroom, OrderPix and Timestone. Simply upload your names list to create codes that will associate the photos with the student; then scan the code before shooting to assign the student information to the camera files’ metadata – ensuring worry-free organization and saving you from frantic post-production searches for lost files.

Note - While almost all other brands have raised their prices as a result of increased tariffs, Panasonic has kept the price level for LUMIX S Series.
