James Artaius
The editor of Digital Camera World, James has 22 years experience as a journalist and started working in the photographic industry in 2014, primarily for Olympus (now OM System) product testing, shooting ad campaigns, and training new and professional photographers. His professional clients include names like Canon, Elinchrom, Aston Martin Racing and L'Oréal, and he also shoots for a number of ethical and women-owned small businesses.
He has written for publications including Digital Camera Magazine, PhotoPlus: The Canon Magazine, N-Photo: The Nikon Magazine, Digital Photographer and Professional Imagemaker. He has been invited to give talks around the world at events like The Photography & Video Show, and serves as a judge for both the Red Bull Illume Photo Contest and the Urban Photo Awards.
An Olympus / OM System, Canon and Hasselblad shooter, James has a wealth of knowledge on cameras of all makes – and a fondness for vintage lenses and instant cameras. He is, however, glad to have escaped the 35mm film days. "Film is fun for nostalgia purposes, but I'd never go back to that analog workflow!"
