Dragons’ Den star buys Jessops to run as online business
Jessops will live on – on the internet, that is.
Entrepreneur Peter Jones, star hit TV show Dragons’ Den, has bought the Jessops brand, the collapsed retailer’s administrator has confirmed.
According to news reports, Rob Hunt, joint administrator and partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, appointed administrator to Jessops, said, “We can confirm that we have sold the brand and certain other assets to a number of buyers, including entrepreneur Peter Jones CBE.”
It is believed that the deal does not include the 187 stores Jessops closed at the start of January.
It is expected that Jones and his group will run Jessops as an online company.
