The 'Tell a Story' competition posed a fascinating challenge for the GuruShots community. Whether it was capturing a perfectly timed impromptu moment or engineering a carefully staged scene, the goal was to produce a photograph that's all about the narrative.
We were bowled over by the entries, spanning everything from spontaneous wildlife moments to precise character portraits. We fell in love with Andre Miranda's congregation of owlets, while we were mesmerized by David Hayden's ranchers that looked straight out of a classic Marlboro advertisement. jaime_gervais' beautiful capture of an infant discovering photography stole our heart, and Babis Kosmidis' shot captures the claustrophobia of life in the mines.
The 20 highest ranked images were published in Photography Week (opens in new tab) and we're pleased to showcase these images below, along with the rest of the top 500 featured photographs in the gallery that follows.
