Want portable, sustainable power? The UK’s lightest and smallest 3kWh LFP power station has just launched

Increasingly, the life of photographers and videographers is spilling out of the studio and onto location. Wedding photographers need to shoot at inconvenient venues, travel and documentary photographers are required to work on location and on the move, and everyday photographers want to be able to use their cameras and editing kit on the go.
Working off the grid isn’t just an environmental concern (though shooting with sustainable power is a priority to many), it’s simply a reality for professionals who travel to assignments and eager enthusiasts who want to keep taking photos and video even when they’re not near a power socket.
Enter the Jackery Explorer 3000 v2, the ultimate off-grid solution for photographers and videographers. Whether you’re camping on vacation, living your best van life, shooting on location or you just want to be prepared for unexpected power outages, the Explorer 3000 v2 is Jackery’s most advanced 3kWh portable power station to date – and the UK’s first ever 3kWh model.
Reliable remote shooting
Offering a massive 3,072Wh capacity and 3,600W output (with a 7,200W peak), the Jackery Explorer 3000 v2 is 20% more powerful than the previous generation. In real terms, that means more pure horsepower to keep your camera and laptop topped up, but it also means you can run anything from power tools to electric cookers.
That’s truly game-changing for anyone who works on the road, regularly shoots on location or wants to go travelling and keep both necessities and luxuries powered up. But the extra power doesn’t come at the expense of portability; the 3000 v2 is 47% smaller and 43% lighter than the industry standard, making it the smallest and lightest LFP 3kWh power station on the market.
Jackery’s advanced Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, inspired by the automotive industry, features an innovative honeycomb battery structure directly integrated into the base of the unit. This not only saves space but also enhances shock resistance, stability, and safety — especially in rugged outdoor or off-road environments.
It offers supreme versatility, too, with eight output ports to suit a multitude of devices simultaneously. The 3000 v2 features 3 AC outlets (203V), 2 USB-C (100W PD) ports, 2 USB-A ports and a cigarette lighter socket to keep everything up and running.
The power station itself also boasts fast and flexible charging choices. You can fully charge it from a wall socket in just 1.8 hours, and using one of Jackery’s solar charging panels it can hit a full charge in as fast as 3.5 hours. You can even charge the Explorer 3000 v2 in your car in around 36 hours.
If you have sensitive devices relying on power, such as computers or CPAP machines, the built-in UPS function offers peace of mind in case of a blackout, as the Explorer automatically switches to battery power within 20 milliseconds to prevent interruption. And if you’re keeping the station on standby in case of a blackout, Jackery’s patented low-self-discharge technology can retain up to 95% charge even after 365 days!
Smart and safe
You can manage the Explorer remotely via WiFi and Bluetooth, giving you real-time readouts and control – so you can check information such as the battery level, in and output power, and even the estimated remaining runtime. If you’re conscious about your footprint, it also provides up-to-the-minute solar power generation and carbon emission reduction statistics.
Intelligent power management options mean that you can optimize the 3000 v2 with a series of smart settings; Battery Saving Mode can extend lifespan by up to 30%, Self-Consumption Mode maximizes solar power usage for direct home supply, and Scheduled Charging for Dynamic Tariff enables you to align charging with off-peak energy rates. There’s even a Quiet Charging Mode that keeps noise levels as low as 27dB.
The Explorer’s intelligence even incorporates AI, with the ChargeShield 2.0™ algorithm adjusting the charging speed based on factors like battery temperature and voltage, balancing battery health and charging speed to prolong the life of the power station. In addition, the 3000 v2 employs ultra-durable LFP cells that deliver 4,000 charge cycles – giving you long-lasting, safe and stable power for 10 years.
Safety is another area that ChargeShield 2.0™ prioritizes, with 12 forms of protection via Jackery’s advanced Battery Management System and 40 dedicated safety mechanisms actively safeguard the battery’s health. The Explorer continually monitors for abnormalities like overtemperature and overcharge and takes preemptive action to ensure peak performance and protection.
The Jackery Explorer 3000 v2 is available now, carrying a retail price of £2,299. However, the brand is currently running an earlybird price of just £1,899 from now until June 30 – and this also includes a free bundle featuring a car charging cable and extreme guard carry bag.
The power station is also available with a SolarSaga 200W solar panel, in the Solar Generator 3000 v2 kit, priced at £2,599. Again this is available at an earlybird price of just £2,199, giving you a £350 saving if you order before June 30 – and it includes a car charging cable, extreme guard carrying bag and a trolley absolutely free.
