Samsung Galaxy rumors and leaks

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus review

The number one smartphone manufacturer in the world, Samsung is on a roll. The South Korean giant has hit a home run with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which stands proud as many people's pick for best camera phone on the market and it’s new Galaxy A Series, launched in March has satisfied the mid-range market perfectly. We should also note that the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S8 Tab Ultra is the iPad Pro’s biggest rival.

More than that, though, the company is blazing a trail in the world of foldable phones. After a very shaky start with the original model, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been widely embraced – and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has brought married the old school cool of flip phones with the new school tech of the 5G era.

Samsung Z Fold4

The Samsung Z Fold4 is expected to launch in August and new leaks have surfaced online. The first pointing towards a slimmer and lighter design – with a squarer display than the previous Fold smartphones. A more slimline design would certainly be great news as it means the new phone will be better to handle and more pocket friendly.

Another leak says the next generation Galaxy Z Fold will have a similar battery capacity to its predecessor - two phone batteries being registered by Samsung with regulators in South Korea and we think it is safe to assume these 4,400mAh batteries are for the Galaxy Z Fold4. Indeed, keeping the battery capacity the same as per the Z fold3 certainly makes the smaller size leak seem more likely – as Samsung won’t have to squeeze in extra capacity.

We’ve also recently reported on two promising leaks regarding the Samsung Z Fold 4’s camera system. The first alleges that the new flagship foldable will boast the 3x telephoto camera from the Galaxy S22 and S22+ and the second that it will feature the Galaxy S22 Ultra's 108MP camera. Assuming the 108MP camera leak is true – and it comes via reliable and well-known Samsung leaker Dohyun Kim (via Notebookcheck) it essentially means we already know that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will feature the best camera system of any foldable and one fitting to a flagship with expected $1799 MSRP.

L-shaped smartphone patent

Interestingly, in March Samsung filled a patent with the World Intellectual Property Organization for an L-shaped smartphone which features a folding display that opens out sideways. The sideways opening part of the display then wraps around towards the back of the phone, putting it into a closed position.

Details contained in the patent filing include a two-part battery, and that the folding display would be made of Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass, as seen to great effect on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. It’s an interesting prospect to say the least and now thanks to LetsGoDigital and Concept Creator we can see renders of what the phone could look like (below).

Samsung Galaxy M13

Lastly, although Samsung has yet to make an official announcement about the Galaxy M13, we know the new camera phone is soon to be released, as it just got Bluetooth certified. The new budget smartphone will be the successor to the Galaxy M12, which was released last February.
