Nikon Z 6 and Nikon Z 7 to get extra boost of power with the announcement of a specially designed MB-N10 battery pack

In fantastic news for professional Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 shooters, Nikon has announced a specially designed Z 6 and Z 7 battery grip with room for two EN-EL15B rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Available from November and priced at £179, this will be the perfect addition for the kitbags of professional Nikon Z photographers.
When it comes to battery grips, reliability is absolutely key, and the grip for the Nikon Z 6 and Nikon Z 7 has dust and drip-resistant performance equivalent to the Z 6 and Z 7 cameras themselves. This means that you don't need to worry about the grip letting you down when working in inclement conditions.
Sports and wildlife photographers may be particularly excited for this lens, and Nikon says it's "well-balanced, especially when using a telephoto". As telephoto lenses typically tend to be quite large and heavy, adding a battery grip to counterbalance this weight can help make your camera set-up more ergonomic. This helps you to shoot for longer without experiencing discomfort. The grip, however, has no controls on it - so does not, for instance, feature a shutter release for vertical shooting.

Interestingly, the Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 battery grip supports the hot-swapping of batteries. This is when power automatically switches from one battery to the other without cutting out. This is particularly good for videographers, as it means that they don't need to worry about their video suddenly cutting out when they're shooting something important.
Happily, it appears as if you can charge both batteries inside the battery grip itself. This can be done using the EH-7P Charging AC Adaptor, which uses an attached USB- C cable to connect to the USB-C port in the battery grip. This will assumedly charge both batteries at the same time, so you don't need to mess around with an external charger.
While the Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 battery grip is only one of many exciting Nikon announcements today, we're sure Nikon Z professionals will be clamoring to get their hands on this extra boost of battery power.
