In this video, photographer Benjamin Von Wong gives a detailed breakdown on how he went about his photoshoot with Olympic Paradressage Rider, Natasha Baker. It seems that the key to capturing the fantastic images he does is all in the planning and preparation. He says, “I’ve found that planning shots in advance rather than gambling on improvisation skills and taking the time to doodle them out (even though they can be quite ugly at times) are a great way to communicated with your clients or fellow artists the image that you’re trying to create.”

You can see some of Von Wong’s concept sketches here:

Photographer and digital artist Benjamin Von Wong is known for his dramatic images. Recently he had his hands full at a medieval photo shoot for medieval store Les Artisans D’azure, which he rightly describes as ‘epic’.

Von Wong’s photoshoot included fire, horses, a smoke machine, and of course no medieval scene is complete without a horde of evil minions.

Setting up a mass photoshoot is never an easy task, especially when it involves fire and horses, but as you can see Von Wong has triumphed with his fantastic set of end images from the shoot.

Here’s a video showing the real action behind the scenes.
