HELP
I just cannot enter my entry. I`ve put it in a gallery on PR and the method in the FAQ for inclusion in a forum threa just does not bring up the box that is described and I put it on flickr and only get the url address and no picture appearing. I`ve tried with the mountain icon and the little world with the glasses and same result. I`ve tried following the thread above and never get a box popping up - can just paste into the reply box. I am asked for permission to let the site open a box or some such words but same result when I allow it. When Jerry says highlight a photo what does that mean from flickr? I am copying the url address rather than the one above it whilst on middle sized image - how do I highlight the large to link to that without posting a big picture in the thread?

Can anyone explain very simply how I can post an entry from my gallery here or flickr that will show in 500 wide format but click to view a larger version. It was so easy on the old DC mag site - I hate this place and fear that if it is such a chore I just will not bother

Thumbs down

After keeping trying I finally managed to get medium sized image put into the entry thread but not clickable to larger image. Do you really have to type out as in sarasocke`s message to do this - is there not a simpler way or I fear frustration will mean I will not bother again.
Also I`ve just lost two hours - how come the last post shows an edit was done at 10am when it was done at 8am This site is

Jinky - do not despair. I used the same formular on DCM as I didn't use their galleries much, and couldn't be bothered loading pictures twice (flickr and DCM). The same applies here, as I don't like the galleries much. But that's another story

I copied the formular into a Word document, all ready with the correct bracket/spacing. I loaded this document when I wanted to show a clickable photo from flickr, and copied the formular into the thread in the forum. Then all I needed to do was to replace the two adresses with the two urls from flickr.

Sounds a bit long, but it's not really. And it's only one photo a week

Yes thanks for that Carol - it does work when you take a deep breath, stop swearing at inanimate objects and take steps logically. I`ve managed it now- though to too large an image and will do as you say and copy the address to type up in future. More annoyed that the stated method of linking images in PR gallery to forum on FAQ thread just does not work. Don`t know if it`s cos I`m on XP that I do not get the the copy link message stated.

So much for me doing a light-hearted entry on my old favourite of food ( not using bath or toilet seat lid before you ask)! Put me in a bad mood for a hour or more now and yes H I ae the props but have to say it was a very poor scone and clotted cream is always best Sorry about the joke in the title but always been a favourite of mine.

I think a lot of people are still on XP - me included, so imho it should work. I didn't even try for the above reasons. Maybe I'll give it a go later. Maybe ....

It is a right royal pain in the backside having to either remember the formula or having to actually produce a document with the formula in....ok, this isn't exactly difficult or time consuming to set-up, but its just another step in the process once said document has been created and shouldn't be needed TBH

Hi Jinky, sorry to read your trials at getting an image the correct size loaded. When its a flickr image it should be very simple. Copy the HTML from flickr as you would normally, for the size of image you want to use, then in the entry thread click the insert image tool and past your HTML into that and your image will be displayed. I know its frustrating at first but once you work out how this site works its fine.

PS the image is not displayed until you post the message, have a play in the chat thread

Bob
