The 16-85 you mention is a very good lens and for a prime it's hard to beat the 50mm f1.8.

The 50mm f1.8 is indeed a cracking lens. Cheap too.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
How about 17-55mm one?
This lens seems to be the most expensive DX lens.

Not DX, though.

I have no experience of it, but I think it's a bit disappointing in the value for money stakes.

My vote for a neglected DX Nikkor is the 85mm Micro.

True, but it'll still work a treat on DX body. May not autofocus though depending on which body.

Hi, sorry.
One more question, how about DX 35mm 1.8G?
Thanks

I might have missed something here, but how can people make suggestions without knowing what the intentions are of the photographer?

The 50mm f/1.8G lens should be able to auto focus on any camera, it has a built in motor, bit more expensive than the D lens.

I think it's a game.

The 50mm f1.8 G is not DX, either.

I think DX was one of the rules of the game.

Mornington Crescent?
