Hardwater Mill

A Mill local to where I live. Hadn't planned on photographing this today but drove past it on my way to pick my eldest up from school, and it looked quite appealing in the mist and snow.
Any crit welcomed.
Thanks

Chris

I really like the subtle colours which is why I would have to tone down the red life ring , apart from that it looks like a lovey peaceful place and you've done a great job on the composition .

Very nice image well done

Thanks Mark.
I thought about getting rid of the life ring, but decided that the colour added a bit of, well, colour, in an otherwise not very colourful image. I'll have a look at toning it down a bit.
Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

Personally, I like the lifebelt - adds some extra interest to a great shot. But I do want to CCW rotate by a couple of degrees!

Thanks Markulous.

I've converted to black and white:

And here it is in colour with the Life buoy toned right down.
I think I prefer the first one, I like the colour.

The first works best for me Chris although the BW conversion is nice too. The third with the bouy toned down seems weird having seen it in color Nice Shot

I both like the first and the B&W one.

I agree with Markulous, maybe a little turn CCW to make the horizon more horizontal. (strange sentence, I don't know how to translate, but I think you will understand what I mean )

I prefer the colour version but not with all the colour taken out of the ring just toned down a little , in the original the red of the ring looks too over powering but toned down to match the other colours would make for a better balanced result . ( just my taste )

I can't see an issue with the horizon , the vertical lines look fairly upright to me and the scene as a whole has a very pleasing perspective .
