iMacro: The Insecticons

Bee Collecting Nectar
This is one of my first few try of macro photography. I just use a close-up filter for this shot on an 85mm f/1.8 lens and my camera mounted on a monopod.

Really nice shot , great colours great composition and the focus is spot on .

That close up filter has really worked well on your 85mm lens , have you thought about trying extension tubes if you don't have a dedicated macro ?

Great image well done .

Mark

Blue Banded Bee
This specie of bee is very active during daytime that you cannot caught it staying on one place. And I don't have a photo of it during the day, yet.

When I was about to call it a day on one of my macro outing, I noticed a group of flying bugs hanging on a long root a plant. I thought they were flies as I used to see them but I was amazed when I saw these creatures finding their place on the single root. They flap their wings and wiggle their feet when someone tries to land on their place.
I saw this lone bee on the other side of a small branch of the same plant where the other bees are staying. They grasp the stem of the tree using their mouth.
